(Tiny Hexer) It's also my favorite tool to read binary files.

Over the years, I never found anything better for this task.

But scripting sounds interesting.

I see exactly €73,90 worth of reasons to prefer NOT Winhex (the Professional version that offers scripting support)

WinHex the best Hexeditor around

Never tried it out.

I do prefer free software but if the cost of the license justifies the quality of the tool then I probably won't mind thought lately I wouldn't have much chances to afford license costs anyways.

Guess I've grown so happy with TinyHex that I didn't had much reasons to find an alternative.

Lately, when moving to Ubuntu and other OS's I did looked for a good open source hex editor but still ended up either running tinyhex from WINE or using VirtualBox to run from an emulated XP.

winHex ws my favorite choice for Hex Editor and EmEditor for large file

What are the advantages that grab your attention when compared to TinyHex?

If all you wanna do is look at a file once or twice a year, WinHex is pure overkill.
But when you need overkill, WinHex is the way to go.
It's a hexeditor, diskeditor, rameditor, ...

When i was looking for a hexeditor, i was looking them all over and WinHex was enough better than the rest, that even with the price tag, it looked like the best deal.
The only downside is, that there are no lifetime free updates.

I like tinyhexer, but I like HxD also.

Anyone else for HxD?

I also use HxD and/or the hexeditor plugin for notepad++
