Windows 7 and Unetbootin

• Download UNetBootin
• Download Win7 Syslinux Hack
• Use UNetBootin to copy files from Win7 ISO
• Extract zip to the root of your USB, overwrite syslinux.cfg

• Download UNetBootin
• Download Win7 Syslinux Hack
• Use UNetBootin make a Live instance of FreeDOS
• Copy all the files from DVD to USB root
• Extract nt60.0 from zip to the root of your USB
• Insert these line in the end of syslinux.cfg
  

  label insWin7rc1
  
  menu label Install Micrsoft Windows 7 Ultimate RC1
  
  kernel /nt60.0

• Copy all the files from DVD to USB root
• Open a command prompt windows (Administrator Mode)
• Goto X:\Boot (where x: is your USB drive)
• Run
  

  bootsect /nt60 x:

  (again where x: is your USB drive)

hey , the win7 syslinux hack file is not extracting anything , i got some kind of an error in winrar.

any1 can upload it somewhere else ?

2nd question , is there some kind of another hack that i can install windows xp using this method ?

but i have a problem i got windows 7 7264 , and i did the first method using unetbootin and overwritten the syslinux.cfg , the thing is its not booting , i have an error :

I've installed Windows 7 on Acer One simply using diskpart from Vista machine, no need for additional steps unless you wat to combine multiple OS on a single USB pendisk.

i tried the last method as u said .

but when i boot the USB , i get a screen like DOS with only one letter ( J )
no options , nothing , just a ( J ) .

If I understand correctly this is for installing Win 7 (Beta, RC)? Are there any instructions on how to make a Unetbootin WinPE 3.0 RC USB. I already have a WinPE 3.0 USB that boots up and works just fine (I naturally have the .wim as well as the .iso).

If I just use Unetbootin point to the .iso, boot of the USB it doesn't do a thing. What am I doing wrong? Hope this is related to this post and I'm not just hijacking it.

Since I have a working WinPE 3.0 RC already I'm just wondering if it's possible to use Unetbootin so I have a single USB drive, where I have WinPE, Puppy Linux,... Creating a multiboot (Linux only) one isn't all that hard, but I don't know what if any switches are needed so I'd be able to select, so it boots into WinPE...instead of for example Puppy Linux.

Does anyone have any experience in creating a multi OS choice USB drive that includes WinPE?

Slightly off topic, but have anybody found a way to vhd-boot win7pe off usb?

I installed both Windows 7 Beta and Windows 7 RC1 with UNetBootin (with a little tweak). I was successful to boot WinPE 2, WinPE 2.1 and WinRE 3 RC1 with UnetBootin. I would guess Windows 7 RTM will have no problem either.

Sorry for bumping a somewhat old topic... but this doesn't work for me with Win 7 RTM. I just get a blinking cursor after the UNetbootin menu. Any ideas?

It worked for me without problems. Did you follow instructions to the point...
