I found this nice site (blog) with hundreds of links to pictures.
The problem is, they don't link directly to the pictures, but to a rudimentary html page, which in turn loads the picture.
The integrated dowload manager in any of the browsers i use, always only work with 1 level or direct links, if you prefer, as i had to find out.

What i would need is, one that can work 2 levels.

Does anyone know of one?

:)

try webpagedownloaders, like teleport (if teleport dont work, try other webpagedownloaders)

long time ago, in that kind of sites, i was using teleport and creating iso for saved site.
also
some sites are nice to give numbers (medevil001.jpg, medevil002.jpg, medevil003.jpg ..) or introduction name to pictures (medevilsupermad.jpg, medevilrealmad.jpg, medevilsaysthereisnospoon.jpg..), so it is easy to copy/move all in one folder after download.

good luck

Yes, i remember using one of those some time ago. That's how i know this can be done.
Already have been searching my HDDs, but can't seem to be able to find that program, whatever it's name was.

some sites are nice to give numbers (medevil001.jpg, medevil002.jpg, medevil003.jpg ..) or introduction name to pictures (medevilsupermad.jpg, medevilrealmad.jpg, medevilsaysthereisnospoon.jpg..), so it is easy to copy/move all in one folder after download.

Those kind of downloads can at least one of my browsers handle. But no such luck.

Why don't you just say so? :)

AHAHA AHAHA! :(

Now check ATTENTIVELY these two urls:
hxxp://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PB-O1yT5EYg/SSeaz-erqKI/AAAAAAAAZIY/7qf8C_KtWiA/s400/04_1969_swordswman_kensmith.jpg

(bolded interesting part for your convenience)
First is the "direct link" on the given page, second is the "actual URL" of the full-sized image.....:(

Can you spot the difference? :)

Since you are a programmer, it shouldn't be that difficult to get all links on main page and divide the bolded part by 0.25 :) (I would multiply it by 4 :(, or better even, gsar /s400/ with /s1600/, but you know, I am an Admin, and Italian, thus less accurate)

What a #§$%!
Tested 5 different programs. Only 2 were at least able to get the thumbnails. None to get any of the big pictures.
Most interesting, the programs which had no setting for the file type to retrieve. Downloaded only html pages, despite the 'make complete copy' setting! :)

Honestly how hard can it be? Find the link - follow the link - download the damn embedded picture!

If i could only find that stupid download manager again! :(

Already tryed that before posting here. It's not able to follow links that are deeper than just 1 level.

Structure is:

Mainpage with link (to a .jpg) - leads actually to a html page - which has the jpg included

@Medevil
Probably whenever you click on a "/s400" image (i.e. the server is asked it), it generates a html page on-the-fly, "/s1600-h" type, containing a .jpg image of the "/s1600" type (full size).

However, it took me all of five (German :)) minutes to save locally the page, get AddrView:
http://www.nirsoft.n...s/addrview.html
run it and extract from it the attached file (all links to "/s1600" pages, edit it to fix the links and removing unneeded info)

Many many thanks jaclaz, for the time you invested into helping me.
And not that i'm ungreatful, but in all the time i invested into searching and testing programs, i could also have manually clicked and saved every picture. Though your solution is waaay better. :(

I want/'need to have' a solution of the kind, it will never be a problem again. I know, doesn't make sense from the economical point of view, but then, we already established that, we are not normal! :)

Yep, it is just a different kind of approach, the "pragmatical" one, while you were (losing time :)) looking for a "general" solution capable of solving your current and ALL future needs of the kind, I solved the current one. :(

I always hated that proverb! It stand imo for everything that's wrong in Germany.
I very much prefer this one.

Thanks a lot jaclaz,
very nice method and very nice usage of addrview. I will remember it.
I downloaded all 519 pictures (~220mb) but sadly their names are not in order through filename.

For a general solution, I looked my archive what i used long time before for that kind of websites to download, and i found and remember this very nice utility, Internet Researcher , sadly not free but works great. I need to remember the adjustments for this utility a little but i made a simple trial and it was downloading the big pictures from http://goldenagecomi...s.blogspot.com/. I hope medevil likes it.

Thanks, will try it when i'm home. And not to worry about it not being freeware, i have no problem to pay for good software, only for bad one! :)

I like to aim to the sun and actually get there :) I would be VERY, VERY upset should I have aimed to the sun and got to the moon instead....:(
Though of course:

If you want a place in the sun, you've got to put up with a few blisters.

:)
So, as second choice, better to aim to the moon and get there. :)

Let's see if any of these suit you :(

I guess explanation was not needed, but as you wish here they are:

"If you want things done right, you have to do them yourself."
wrong, because you may not have right time, right man, right money, right skill, right education also you may need right team, everything cant be done alone. Maybe more reasons can be found. I guess winbuilder and projects are good examples.

"People, who can't get things right the first time, will also not get them right the second time."
TOTALLY WRONG, it is not about number, it is about howmuch you want to get things right. If you really want, even after 20 trial you learn how to do it in right way.
better is "If one dont try to learn from his/her mistakes, he will repeat same mistakes all the time"

"My personal point of view: "You eighter do things right or not at all." or "There's the first place and then there's the rest. ""
NOPE, for lots of reasons, mostly reason is time, you may do things between right and none.
ExMoney: I cant buy the best car i want, but the good car i can afford to suit my needs.
ExTime: No much time to do everything right :) .

Hmm, that was not exactly what i expected. :)
Was hoping more for something along the lines of jaclaz post, you know some proverbs or chinese cokie wisdoms or.... Something that would reflect more your point of few, on the topic of the phrases, i put up.

But since your answers seem a little strange to me, i might better point out how the proverbs should be understood. At least imo.

"If you want things done right, you have to do them yourself."
(Nobody will ever do things exactly the way you would do them / you would like them done!)

"People, who can't get things right the first time, will also not get them right the second time."
(People, who do not want to put enough efford in, to get things right the first time, will not change later or if you prefer, will also not want to put enough efford in to get it right the second time.)
This is not an assessment about peoples abilities, but about people and their motivations or lack thereof.

"You eighter do things right or not at all."
The keyword here is do! You do buy in your example. You do not price! And yes one can even buy an expansive car wrong!
Similar phrases would be: "Never do things halfhearted!", "Never do things without conviction!"

:(

But since your answers seem a little strange to me,

It is very common and reason is simple,
kebab

pide

.....

:) :(

With one of those on the table, i am sure everything will make more unstrange.

proverbs should be understood.

should be but is always?? I understand you and i knew the proverbs real meanings, but sadly it is not the case all the time. I listen lots of proverbs for the proof of nonsense logic........ well maybe lots of things to write, better to leave this point, it will be a better chat this subject after eating in a restaurant and pictures made me hungary and smile.
I hope you like them. :(

Since you're in the mood of proverbs, here's one I find interesting:
