XP SP3 does ship with all-new features - not just patches and hotfixes, most of them backported from Windows Vista:
1.XP-SP3 have copy protection schemes and Vista Product Activation model....
2.XP-SP3 is there like Vista to sort out the pirated copies from genuine one....
3.Un-protected users (with pirated copies) will be contribute viruses and worms....
4.If you dont have XP-SP3 your unprotected Windows PC will be compromised within 12 minutes of going online....
According to information from the internet there are more than 50.000 viruses for Windows now.

I do not think so, because the servicepack itself does not contain the base setup files like txtsetup.sif, hive???.inf etc.
Maybe there can be a way not using the PE but putting files together and constructing the hives, but this way may be very long and hard.

As so much changed from Vista to keep it away from borrowing settings to build a XP?
Why not using static registry hives as the XP standard project to fill the void of missing values and then recomplete with the internal host values for applying regional settings.
Not a solution for strictly native PE XP fans but a good way to survive as lesser XP Install CD's roam the world and also the opportunity to use a stable source to build a boot disk.
I know you'll likely raise plenty of good arguments to disagree but if we need a "simpler" XP boot disk then wouldn't this be a good solution?

I added support for sp3 a few months back.
Searching for a string like "sp3" will quickly reveal where some file changes where made. Some modified scripts included the base build scripts of course, also networking and usb scripts were updated.
I still use sp2 as a reference machine. But sp3 is looking ok all in all. Thankfully it doesn't add much size to the dist. share.
System builders interested in personal nlited builds may experience problems after removing the security center. You may find the security center less annoying if you set the WSCSVC to disabled or "4".
The size of the security center itself is neglidgable so it's actually not a concern for me if this is not resolved.

I think that we - that means WinBuilder developing people- should not see RC-s very seriously.
When a new SP is released, but not before that, it is time to check all projects for compatibility.
On the other hand, thanks to Thunn and previous posters that they inform us about the brand new issues.

Windows XP SP3 RTM has been released business customers, leaked to the net, and is rumored to be scheduled for public release on the 29th of April. The build number for the rtm release is 5512.

Slightly off-topic but related: SP3 sometimes breaks XP with a GDI32 error.

I've found this error can occur in SP3 files named WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe and earlier. Thankfully the solution sounds easy enough - replace the pre-SP3 patched GDI32 with the one in the ServicePackFiles folder.
