Bad news. I hope he won't leave.

I understand how a few bad members or mods can ruin the fun. I had to restrict myself to a policy of read-only on a forum or two because of it.

I've always appreciated Reatogos plugin repository but I was also leary of the not-free aspect. Now that he's gone donation that's not an issue.

If I knew the guy I'd suggest he should go into read-only mode for awhile.

I don't know if I was ever really a fan of 911cd. I just read it. I still just read it from time to time and never post. When Scripter was on 911cd forums and I wrote that digg entry, I kind of felt sympathetic towards nuno, jaclaz, and draugen and the rest of the group that were working on really interesting projects, so I'm glad you got this split off to its own forum.

It's not that I'm hostile to UBCD4WIN or Reatogo, it's just there is a different kind of person that uses those projects from the people that use WinBuilder.

While we're on the topic of other forums, though, what other ones do you guys frequent other than Bootland? I had an account on MSFN for a while and I know they have had riffs with Neowin from time to time. Then there are the UBCD4Win forums and 911cd and Bootland, are there any other good ones that occasionally have posts worth reading?

i've been known to lurk around MSFN - 'specially the HFSLIP part. The nLite board there is, sadly, overrun by n00bs (and i mean that in the worst possible way :P ) who apparently 1: cannot follow instructions/directions very well; 2: cannot ask questions well. I guess that an influx of n00bs is a direct consequence of nLite being a n00b-friendly program...

I also lurk a bit around the gentoo forums (gentoo htpc, as soon as i get my head out of my rear, also on the server) at times, as well as the norwegian hardware.no forum (although the last forum i pretty irrelevant for most others here)

I forgot to mention I'm also a moderator on governmentsecurity.org. It's a good forum, and parts of it have script kiddies but the inner levels have good info.
