I use ImDisk as part of UrBackup product in instalation on my Windows Server 2012 R2
ISO file mount as drive and open successifuly but VHD give me an error "You need to format the disk in drive". Builtin tool in windows 2012 open this VHD-file.
Where i would find a log-file for diagnostic to resolve a problem. Or exist ready solution (special version or smth.).

Sorry for my bad english.

Maybe the issue is with the offset to the partition(s)?

IMDISK usually gets it right, but maybe you have something non-common in the VHD?

Also, which specific type of VHD is it?

IMDISK is made NOT for VHD's, it is made for RAW (volume) images, and - with some limitations - for partitioned RAW images, but a particular type of VHD, is to all effects a RAW image with an excess sector appended, so normally IMDISK can mount it.

There are however ways to use VHD's of *any* type, see the FAQ (namely #7 and #8) via devio and/or via discutils:

http://reboot.pro/to...qs-and-how-tos/

Maybe you would be better served by the "derivative" IMDISK Toolkit:

http://reboot.pro/to...imdisk-toolkit/

https://sourceforge....imdisk-toolkit/

which has these features "built-in" (besides the IMDISK driver itself).
