Why should the weekend be any happier than any other day (weekday)?

I can't stand people that tell me to "Have a good day!". They think they mean well (and maybe they do), but I look at it from the point of view of "This person is trying to tell me what kind of day *they* think I should have". They never seem to consider that someone should be able to have any kind of day they damn well please, whether angry, sad, whatever. They just say it out of habit and because society has reinforced in them that they should try to be polite, etc, without really thinking about it.

Maybe I'm just weird like that.

Not weird, you make a fair point. I guess it is just a short way of saying "I hope you have a great weekend", and a sincere one.

If what you're saying is what they mean, then that's fine by me, but it's *exactly* what they should be saying. I'm a big fan of the say what you mean, mean what you say philosophy. By being clear with people, it reduces misunderstandings and makes sure they get your point. I'm one of those upfront, in-your-face, tell-it-like-it-is/how I see it types of guys, and will tell someone my opinion with no regard as to whether they'll like what I have to say or not. I'd rather not deal with people in the first place but it's just one of those facets of life that can't be avoided. I would have no problem with being the only person/animal on Earth, as long as I have things to do that will keep me occupied.

Juggling with cats is not that bad as a pastime. :dubbio:

Not to be confounded with cat juggling:

which is usually much more fun when there is a public.
