hello,
I have a USB bootable XP (x64) that boots from usb universally on many hardware thanks to so much help from reboot.pro membership!
now I have used clonedisk to make disk image of it on the USBHDD. I can boot that image in ram with grub4dos but when I try to boot it from a logical partition on an internal SATA HDD of the same system, it stalls before it gets to disk checking (using /sos in boot.ini)
Im at a loss for what direction to take from here. should I convert the .img to a .vhd? does having it stored in a logical partition complicate the issue?
thanks
how to boot clonedisk .img from logical partition?

How EXACTLY are you attempting to boot it?
I.e. which EXACT grub4dos commands are you using?
Which driver (if any) are you using?

hi Wonko,
I will have to get back to this later, it lead to bigger problems while I was experimenting with it. I am working on a new thread about it now and trying to detail it as best that I can. (wait till you see this!)
thanks
