Oh my.   This is very pretty and impressive.  Take a look at the Windows Triage Environment if you haven’t done so yet.  It is nice to see work continuing work being done to improve upon WinFE.

Well, we are partially back to the generic issue of UNAUTHORIZED redistribution of software, same as:

http://www.forensicf...573195/#6573195

but in this case it is even worse, as the - BTW surely good willing and nice guys - are actually claiming a Copyright on something that is just a mish-mash of other people's work, applying to it additional license terms:

http://pedrogilberto...e/licensing.htm

Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, are permitted provided that the following conditions are met:

1. Redistributions of source code must retain the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer.

2. Redistributions in binary form must reproduce the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer in the documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution.

3. Only for Law Enforcement and Government Agencies use.

4. Successfully complete the appropriate training on WTE system given by the authors or if expressly authorized by a representative.

5. Request license to use and passwords for above contacts

which is really-really nonsense.

I mean, tomorrow I get the nice Win7PE_SE, the nice things by RoyM, Colin, Brett, etc. a bunch of JFX's nice tools, add a few icons, two or three .scripts or batches, and put on the result a Copyright on the whole thing and limit it's use and redistribution to - say - Italian nationals with surname beginning with L. that took a course from me? :frusty:

Come on!

Additionally:

about the use of Microsoft binaries and libraries

===================================================================================================

Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team complain about alleged copyright infringement from Win7PE_SE after a counterclaim explaining what is Project, asking for clarification on what is not appropriate or illegal, and the exchange of several mails with Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team assuring that will take appropriate actions Microsoft has not responded to the official counterclaim.

Reminder: WAIK files are downloaded once at the first build with GetWaikTools by JFX , and Windows 7 files are used from the source directory.

Win7PE_SE has successfully passed the tests of the Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team, it is Approved as being Legal and distributable.

What happened to Win7PE_SE (which is of course OK , as it is the builder and building project AND NOT a pre-made build):

http://tinyurl.com/mtafwxu

was that the Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team tagged it on Mediafire as Warez  and upon the rightful counterclaim by Chris_R they dropped the issue and vanished.

But they are offering for download a pre-made .iso, under the name of "trial":

WTE PREBUILT TRIAL VERSIONS

http://pedrogilberto...e/downloads.htm

And yes, you are supposed to contact them to get the password, to login to the build, but - last time I checked - the build used Homes32's Clearlock, which is a nice little app but not really-really a "secure" one.
