Many of you Probably already know about The Android-X86 project

But for those who don't know its a project to port Android To work on X86 Systems

Here is a tutorial on how to install it on to a Flash drive:

http://www.techradar...you-can-1080397

Get the latest version here :

http://www.android-x86.org/

If this Project succeeds then it will properly be The best Linux OS even better then Ubuntu

If Google takes interest in it then manufacturers (left in the woods by Microsoft) will start adopting it

The big problem is that It dose not have a wide driver base from the Boot(missing audio WI-Fi ect...)

But since its Linux porting should not be too difficult

Things like Wine and Konsole Integrated it could be a top Contender

And best of all It Will be FREE and OPEN SOURCE

Linux should already have a lot of drivers for x86, so perhaps some of it will be as simple as including them in the build.

Tried this on my Asus EeePC 904 - booted ISO via grub4dos from USB flash (partnew method). WiFi worked but I could not make any phone calls! :loleverybody:

One note, bluestacks is free company product while going trough beta so things might change once it gets user traction.

There is an alternative option, called "Jar of Beans": http://code.google.com/p/jar-of-beans/

I would prefer to endorse "Jar of Beans", the author is a developer just like ourselves and could certainly use some help/support. :)

I'm currently recompiling Android 4.1 jelly beans to successfully start the emulation arm.
