So I'll keep this short and sweet as it's a rather small annoyance.

I've setup a W7 64bit .vhd installation that I'm loading into RAM on startup using Grub4dos and firadisk. So far everything has been working beautifully, however, when I load the .vhd into ram windows always asks me to restart after installing the "RAM Disk" device.

Obviously selecting restart won't have any effect as the image isn't saved when I reboot. What I'm wondering is if someone knows a way I can circumvent this by editing my offline image prior to loading it into ram? I've been scouring the internet for a few days and haven't come across any useful information as of yet.

Thanks in advance for any help.

that is normal

install ramdisk driver on w7 always needs reboot system

but you don't need to do that (if you not reboot it work well)

Yeah I know. However I'm setting this up for a semi-deployment type situation and I don't want the users to be prompted to restart, every time they restart.

Take a couple snapshot of the Registry, most probably it's just a few keys in there.

The original homepage of the "Unicode" vesrsion of Regshot:

http://regshot.ru/20/

is seemingly dead :(, the Winpenpack version should do:

http://www.winpenpac...d.php?view.1170

Cannot say if the good ol' version (and/or it's evolution):

http://sourceforge.n...ojects/regshot/

is compatible with 7.

I use 1.9 version on win7 / win 8. It also has a unicode version.
