Hello everyone.
Recently my desktop PC crashed and since then, can't boot up no more. By the time I will back up all data from it and format the hdd and install fresh windows, I'll need that pc. So I discovered linux live cd and other stuff, along with win7 pe se project. And my question is, since I didn't find much information, is it possible to add to the project windows media player? I already tried the project itself, built in winbuilder, it works. Now I can't figure out how to add WMP to it. I need it for some software to work. Any version starting from WMP 9 is good for me. I tried to put the installed wmp folder in portable apps, no success. Installing WMP right on booted live win7 failed too, since it asked for reboot, which means all gonna be erased. How can I add WMP to Win7Pe Se?
Thank you.

Including WMP is rather difficult, i doubt anyone new to PE can do it.

You could run VLC in Win7PE_SE. That works really fine.

But if it absolutely needs to be WMP, you could build a PE using 'MakePE' that project includes WMP.

I know, its because there is a program I need to get working, called All-Radio, it works only with WMP.

Hi. Do you mean, burn PE to a usb stick, boot up from it, and while in the booted win7 install WMP right on that stick? because, installing it right from the support pc (the one that works) will lack of registry key, so WMP on flash won't work. But installing WMP when already booted may work, I was using a dvd-rw, its rewritable, i guess that should work as well.

Yes, Install to running PE on USB, You will install from latest download of WMP installer.

I doubt that a dvd-rw will work, but it would be interesting to know if it works or not.
