Win pe 3.1 manual build - a few small issues.

Well, using the resources found here (*thanks all that helped / provided info / directions), i have built a decent working winpe 3.1 disc. I do have a couple of small problems that I am still trying to iron out & could use some suggestions..

1: The disk that I am working on will be used on 5 or 6 different hardware platforms. As part of the original build process, right after adding all of the Microsoft Win PE packaages that I needed, I installed all of the hardware drivers. However, when I go into device manager, I see alot of unknown devices. These unknown devices dont seem to have a yellow ! mark on them, but a white one. When I tell windows to update the driver via device manager, properties of the device, it updates it and shows up correctly. Anyone know why the device shows as installed, but the name / location of the device isnt right until I manually tell windows to update device?

2: When I go into the Control Panel - Devices and Printers, the computer scans the machine for devices, but none ever show up. The window is blank.

Thoughts?

Well, I did a little comparison of the registry keys to try to fix #2 above and got it working. What I had to do is to compare my HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion keys from PE with the ones from the install source (DVD) and add a few things that were missing. (mainly subkeys that I had some of the entries in there, but not all of them.)

Anyways, got #2 working, but still having to figure out #1.
