UpxGui is a program made to make working with the upx packer very easy.

Drag&drop or just browse to the exe or dll file of your choice, and press compress!

Also included is a option to integrate itself intoo the explorer shell's right click menu.

Edit: Added a true portable version per request.

I was wondering, does anyone have a... list of windows files that can be safely compressed? (or script)? testing one by one can be time consuming,... :alone:

i guess such list can also help... Wimb optimize his img_xp package?

damian666, could you create a version, which does not extract files to the user directory (or anywhere else), but a perfectly portable one?
A zip file for instance, with all 3 files.

@i
JFYI:
Generally speaking UPX should be used with "parsimony", as the compressed file will need roughly double the RAM.
An old attempt, with object a minimal 2K (AND NOT XP) is here:

I like the portable version. Thanks!
Its good that it tells you if a file is already using upx compression.

If you do an update.
Can you add another option: "Advance options"
The ability to select multiple supported files to compress or decompress.
example gui layout when selecting multiple files.

Similar to "Download them all" firefox addon Minus some stuff.

"Download them all"

"Advance options" for Upxgui
Will update picture sample in a bit
