How does Boot It NG compared to other boot managers (Ranish, XOSL, Grub4dos etc...) ?

As in most things in life, you get what you pay for.

BING is one of the best Commercial apps around, you can think of it as having XOSL+Grub4DOS+Ghost+MBRfix all in one package.

Really? OK for Ghost/MBRfix etc... but can it boot DOS images, Linux kernel/ramdisk, interactive command line etc... as with grub4dos ? Could it be installed and boot from USB key? If it can have all equivalent functions as my entires in grub4dos menu.lst then it is really great. I will probably try it to check by myself.

I should also ask could it make images with MBR inclluded and not included, compressed images of partitions that can be re-deployed on other hard disk with different size, bite per bit/sector per sector copy of a disk for forentics purposes and automative scripting for one button backup or restore actions like Ghost or DeployCenter? Don't think so...

It's a good piece of software, kind of ALL in ONE but some functions are not the best in the market though :P

Grub4dos has two functions:
1) is that of a bootmanager (which is fully replaceable by BING or XOSL, with some caveats for the latest)
2) is that of a bootloader (i.e. a substitute for bootsectors and similar to syslinux, which BING does not address)

GHOST is obviously, together with Acronis True Image, the standard for cloning, quite obviously BING has lesser capabilities/options.

As said you get what you pay for, what do you want for 35 bucks, blood? :P
