This is my first attempt to write a version independent script so I wanna ask for indulgence. :)
Any feedback is well appreciated.

Short overview:
Interface:
bilingual (english/german)

Messages:
all messages are available in language of Interface

Installation:
- "Use installed version on HDD": Program and personal settings will be copied to your build
---(If the program does not exist you will get asked to use the packed version or to abort the script)

- "Use packed version" (IrfanView 4.30 - will be in future always the previous stable version)

- "Download latest version"
---All necessary settings (version number, bytes of files, MD5 sums) can be found in file 'IrfanViewVersion.ini'. Running a second build this file will be renamed to OLD and the script compares the settings of new INI file with the old one. All decisions (download of files or unpacking stored files) are done depending on the results/differences.
All the time the script detects an error you will get asked to install the packed version or to abort the script.
Language files and IrfanView's additional plugins are only available using the download version.

More detailed information can be found using INTERFACE --> Button READ ME

Download:

IrfanView_MaineCoon.script
IrfanView_MaineCoon.zip
IrfanView_MaineCoon.7z

Regards,
MaineCoon

Thank you for sharing the script.

The idea of sharing files straight from your dropbox public folder is really cool.

:)

I recently updated to v2. Now I sometimes receive a message that the operating system is not matching 2003, vista, 7, etc.

Host OS and OS to build my copy of win7pe_se (2011-01-17) is an english windows 7 enterprise x86

If you need more information, logs, etc to debug, let me know MaineCoon

Thanks in advance

Hi Chefkeks,

I got it, seems to be a typo in used var %ProjectTitle% of Win7PE_SE (in 'script.project').

  • former denomination: Win7PE_SE (underline!)
  • current denomination: Win7PE SE (space!)
Anyway, I will upload a new version (v3) tomorrow, that should solve this problem issue.

IrfanView 4.30 has been released!

updated to v4:

Changelog:
- packed version: IrfanView 4.30
- some small changes in detection of WB projects

Note:
Unfortunately not all IrfanView pages have been updated by the author.
Therefore 'Download latest version automatically' does not work as the new file hasn't been uploaded to the download page. Should be solved within the next few days.

All files (program.zip and plugins.zip) have been uploaded to the Download Server.
So 'Download latest version' in script GUI can be used.

updated to v5:

Changelog:
- Languages: Greek, Kurdish and Latvian are available
Bosnian has been removed
