Hi pipster55,

It could be the media, try slower burn speed. What happens if you burn another ISO with this same media? Can you try booting the ISO in VMware or VirtualBox etc. to confirm image is OK? Portable VBox here. You can also boot the ISO directly from your hard drive if wanted for easy testing (see tutorial). If it is the ISO, it's a very rare condition; I've made thousands of ISO's and have never seen an error like this (but I have seen lots of bad media and failing optical drives); far more likely something else is going on. Try some of these checks and let me know... If you run the build again, try selecting qEmu option under Finish -> Emulation, it's slow as molasses but will confirm if image is bootable at end of build.

Thanks. I've been trying to burn on a CD-RW, (I like to make an erasible one first case I mess up) that may be a factor. I'll try out the other directions and get back. I'll try another burner just for the heck of it, as well.

I've been trying your suggestion in the past week. Tried burning at 3x. Burned CDR, previously CDRW. Reran wb78sp6.exe 8-10 times. Tried burning various versions.
Installed VirtualBox. Blank screen comes up.
Have tried two seperate burners.
Added grdlr, menu.lst, modded boot.ini, LiveXP.iso to C:\. LiveXP comes up as OS option, makes it to grub command line?
When I burned to CDR it loaded and got to RAMDisk error. Halted.

Contents of mounted LiveXP_WIM.iso
I386 163MB
GRLDR 215KB
MENU.LST 1KB
PE.DRIVE 0KB
WINNT.SIF 1KB

I'm missing something simple no doubt. Tried qEmu. It locked up with errors as well.
Thanks :hi:

Are you getting the same result if you, in "finish", choose "Create Image" / "Create Iso"?

Hi pipster55, sorry for troubles :hi:

How much RAM on your system? If less than 512MB, you're gonna be stuck with al_jo's suggestion (runs from CD instead of RAM) or using a lighter build and portables. If you have 512MB or more, run the build exactly as it downloads (except choosing your source) and post the log.html (auto-saved at base directory of build) on MediaFire (or similar) and give download link here.

I tried with create ISO and I get.... "Errors:
"WimPack needs SettingsDrive set on ProgramFilesPE Script"
"FBWF needed Files missing: fbwf.sys, fbwflib.dll"

"WimPack needs SettingsDrive set on ProgramFilesPE Script"
"FBWF needed Files missing: fbwf.sys, fbwflib.dll"

Try this:
In “LiveXP – Basic - Build – ProgramFilesPE”  Uncheck
In “LiveXP – Finish – CreateImage – CreateIso”  “Add File Based Write Filter. Use Files from:”  Uncheck
Look at the attached pictures

Ok here is the latest developement after unchecking the suggested boxes. I'm sure it must be self-explanatory but....

Errors:
"WimPack needs ProgramFilesPE Script when using

CreateISO"
"For Standard ISO Settings w/o FBWF Drive must be RAM Drive"

This may be a silly question, but are you using a retail XP installation disc as your build source? It may be unrelated to your problem, but using a recovery/OEM disc can cause all kinds of problems during & after a build.

Ya my install disc might be suspect, I bought it on ebay from China but it built a workable XP

I tried with create ISO and I get.... "Errors:
"WimPack needs SettingsDrive set on ProgramFilesPE Script"
"FBWF needed Files missing: fbwf.sys, fbwflib.dll"

Normally, if you select CreateISO script, you'll want to put FBWF folder containing fbwf.sys and fbwflib.dll (version 2.0.965.0) in your Workbench\Common directory:
fbwf.png

and select the option to add FBWF in the script:
select.png

This gives you a writable temp directory for PE.

If you don't use an unmodified M$, non OEM source, you'll continue to have issues :)

--
I guess you have selected ProgramFilesPE script, be careful and check for conflicts in other scripts e.g. TemPE and Define Fundamentals.

It's a Chinese modded XP source? :)
Anyway, you might try the settings in the attached screenshots...Good Luck :)

Please send the log of your build to www.mediafire.com and provide us the link...

Okay then, tried to build as directed per screen shots. Had numerous errors, not sure what is up. Link for log is

Don’t know if you are joking or not because you have not followed the directions in the pic.
For example, you have not unchecked “apps”!
http://reboot.pro/in...attach_id=11528

Anyway, you can download this very minimal 100% working and tested LiveXP project:
http://www.mediafire...jtqe5f8zb2oeec2
1. Unrar it to C:\LiveXP
2. Run Winbuilder.exe (Do not modify anything)
3. Point to your clean and unmodified source.
4. Click on big blue Play button

If Winbuilder is not making an error free working ISO for you now: Your source is bad/faulty!

Got the minimal-build working, proved

source was okay. Re-installed

Winbuilder lx78sp6cxw. It made a

good iso and successfully burned

and booted. Finally, yeah. On any

of the working builds I have made,

wireless networking seems to be

problematic. On 1x78sp6cxw it

claims a .dll file is missing--

(Error loading hnetwiz.dll. The

specified module could not be

found.) and disallows any entry of

name for SSID.

log--http://www.mediafire.com/?d6klg35kv7cefl6

Is this a common issue for wireless or another anomaly

that I've run into?

Thanks for input al_jo, amalux, and all.

Have you tried "DriverImportPE" while running the PE?
