Hello Everyone,
I was playing around with LiveXP when I figured out, that there is a file called ModelRAM.exe. This file actually contains the Documents and Settings folder which is actually unpacked when LiveXP Starts.
The StartMenu and Desktop Icons, are located inside this folder. I actually wanted to add more Icons of some Portable Apps to Desktop, and edit the start menu. For that I changed the Documents and Settings Folder.
Is there a way to Repack, the Documents and Settings folder to the ModelRAM.exe, so that after editing I can place it again inside the Live XP CD ?
Thanks.
Recreate ModelRAM

yes you can,
manually:
extract .iso file to a folderA,
copy modelram.exe to an empty folderB,
extract modelram,
put your files,
than recreate modelram.exe by uzing 7zip (7z sfx)
put modelram.exe to folderA
recreate the .iso file

This is exactly what I am asking. After a bit of Googling, I found some ways to create 7-Zip SFX. One of them is included in 7-Zip itself. But after creating the EXE Files, when I execute it, it obviously asks for the location to extract etc.
However, when I execute ModelRAM.exe it does not ask for anything. It just directly extracts the files. Which SFX Tool is used to create this type of file ?

7zip's gui menu is basic level, To use 7zip such goal you need to use command line
example:
7z.exe a -t7z -sfx ModelRam.exe -r E:\MyNewModelRamFiles\* -aoa -mmt -mx9
example:
7z.exe a -t7z -sfx ModelRam.exe -r E:\MyNewModelRamFiles\* -aoa -mmt -mx9

Thanks, I got it working.
I'll try ur way as well, but here is something that I actually noticed.
After Creating the new ModelRAM.exe using 7-Zip GUI, the executable does asks for the path when executed under my current Windows OS.
However, when I mounted the WIM File, replaced the ModelRAM.exe, and after rebooting and logging into the LiveXP, it extracted the new Documents and Settings Folder in X-Drive automatically without any Prompt or asking for the Location.
Exactly what I wanted.
Thanks, Lancelot
