Vista and Win7 can be installed without needing any WAIK, also LiveXP has wim support without needing WAIK, as far as i know.

As on boot-land is not allow to share 1 Mb MS files, everyone is forced to load and install GBytes of mostly unnecessary stuff.

doesn't need WAIK
it extracts wimgapi.dll from the Windows 7 install DVD
and uses its own tool WimCaptEx.exe
http://nativeex.boot...x/WimCaptEx.htm
edit:
psc said here:
if no mount is made only the wimgapi.dll is needed

That is wrong! It is not an addon to especially Win7RescuePE .It is an addon to win7rescuepe. It has links to files in that project which must have been previously downloaded.
nativeEx_win7 can link to any suited (win7 source CD) project, to add its apps, drivers, etc.
It even theoretically can link to more than 1 project.
I choose Win7RescuePE because for me it seemed to be the project with the best background and a good future.
How to link to ANY project from nativeEx_win7:
[main] title=nativeEx_Win7 Download_Level=0 Version=1 Selected=True Date=2009-Apr-27 [Links] Projects\Win7RescuePE\Addons Projects\Win7RescuePE\Apps Projects\Win7RescuePE\Net Projects\Win7RescuePE\Temp Projects\Win7RescuePE\Tweaks Projects\Win7RescuePE\Shell

btw. Would nativeEx_win7 even produce a bootable OS, if not linked to another Win7 project?
