I built a BartsPE (version 3110) before learning of Winbuilder. I added the drivers to BartPE for the Promise ultra 133 controller and can see the drive via BartsPE. I have tried several methods in Winbuilder 0.76 but no luck. I initially tried to add the driver via PENetwork. I then tried adding the driver into the XP slipstream. In both cases the driver seems to be installed. If I hit F6 during boot and try to add it I still am unable to see the drive. The other drives connected to the standard MB IDE controller are visible. This ATA 133 controller is on a Gigabyte 81EXP MB with drivers supplied from Gigabyte. I am trying to build the LiiveXP.

Are you including a DriverPacks mass storage driver script in your build?

Thanks,
Galapo.

Maybe the HWID of your device isn't supported, or there's a glitch with the driver. Please run this tool and post the output.

Thanks,
Galapo.

Today, I took the original CD files and manually slipstreamed SP3. I then used nlite to slipstream the Promise ATA 133 Driver. I downloaded BartPE_Builder-3110 and did noting but unzip and point it to the new slipstream. I booted the CD and could see all drives and partitions. I then took Winbuilder 0.76 and did a complete LiveXP build with the new slipstream. Booted the CD and HD on the controller could NOT be seen. I really like Winbuilder and all the apps it gives me, but I need access to all the hard drives. The system files are on the HD connected to the ATA 133 controller.

Your HWID PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275 is currently supported it seems. But under XP. Are you building with XP source?

Look under 'Workbench\Common\DPs\MassStorage\ScriptFiles\xp' for the file FASTTRAK.SY_. Expand it and see what version it is and whether it is what you expected.

Regards,
Galapo.

I am building under XP using XP source.

I expanded it and it says Promise Fastrak Series Driver for XP version 2.0.0.34. The controller I have is not a Fastrack. From the driver inf file:
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275.DeviceDesc="WinXP Promise MBUltra133 (PDC20276) ™ IDE Controller" So what is this telling me and what now?

Please post a link to the OEM driver site so I can download and raise the issue at DriverPacks forum.

For the time being before the mass storage pack supports your hardware, you need to create a standalone script for your driver.

Regards,
Galapo.

The drivers are from the Gigabyte website, this location:
http://www.gigabyte....?ProductID=1300

One of the links directly to the driver is:
http://america.giga-...omise_20276.exe

A standalone script, huh! Guess I need to do some studying. Do you have a few good links to get me started? Thanks!

No I am not using Raid. I am using the controller because I have a Maxtor ATA 133 hard drive and used the controller to match it.

The Intel script here you could use as a base: http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=7254

But by the link I posted above, it seems fasttrak driver is suitable if running in raid. Is that correct?

Galapo.

Thanks for the link. I have never used the raid configuration. But in looking at the drivers I do NOT believe fasttrak is the correct driver. This controller is built into the Gigabyte 81exp motherboard and I do not believe any normal Promise drivers will work with it. It requires the drivers from Gigabyte.

Yes, that's correct. Hopefully you'll have access to your drive and then I can figure out what's going on. If not, I'll need to adjust the script and you'll have to test again.

That may be. I separated out the ATA 133 Drivers years ago since I didn't use raid.

It stopped and gave me this info:

When I closed the window it kept going. Still running now. Has never stopped at this point before.

I'm not sure why that warning would have been thrown up. Ignore it.

No luck. Still no HD visible. But appears it read script. From the log file I see this:

If you still don't get access to your disk, open up the script in the WB Editor or a text editor and change this line
IniWrite,"%target_win%\txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275&CC_0101","#$qultra#$q"
to
IniWrite,"%target_win%\txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275&CC_0100","#$qultra#$q"

If that still doesn't work, change the line to
IniWrite,"%target_win%\txtsetup.sif","HardWareIdsDatabase","PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_5275&CC_0104","#$qultra#$q"

Thanks,
Galapo.
