Monitors web sites such as FileHippo for new versions of install packages for, for example, AVG and CCleaner and Recuva and ..., and downloads them when they apear.

Sounds like a cool way to keep your install programs updated.

I keep a folder called "distribution" where I keep all the apps that I want to install on the machines of my friends that occasionally call for help to fix their computers that I carry on a pendisk to anywhere I go.

Sometimes it's hard to keep this folder with the latest files, for example, openoffice is already at 3.x and I'm still installing 2.4.x
