Run LiveXP from Hard at boot time
================================================================================
=======

HI

When i Built my first livexp by winbuilder[074],i saw that it is really very nice
program.beacause before that i had tested Many kinds of live CDs for example
bartpe,ERDCommander,reatogo,linux,and else...But i think that winbuilders livexp
works faster than them and also it is easier to work by that than others.and also
users can customize their work by winbuilder easier.

After making my 2nd and 3rd ...livexp,i would like to run it from hard disk too,and
also i wanted to use it in my multiboot CD/DVD projects.

Here i had two problems:

1.I did not know that can livexp is able to run from hard disk or not.
2.I did not have enough information about construction of live xp so in 1st tries i
could not run that by multiboot CD/DVDs.

But There was no difficult problem, because:

My dear friend "ispy" gave my answer to 1st question in link bellow ,and after
reading that i saw that livexp can be runned from HDD,but how it can,I will tell
you in this tutorial.

http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4696

Dear "Nuno" answered My 2nd question and i could make livexp to be used in multiboot
projects.I wrote a tutor about that in AeroStudio section of Boot Land (links below).
note that I had a mistake in 1st link below and i modified it by second link below,
so you should read booth of them to use live xp in multiboot projects:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

For runnig LiveXp from hard Do easy steps below:

I suppose you are familier by winbuilder. If you run winbuilder to make LiveXP,
at the end you will have two directories:

...\Target\LiveXP
...\ISO\LiveXP.iso

In this tutor we use ...\Target\LiveXP directory, but if you do not have
that, you can make that directory and extract all contents of your LiveXP.iso
to it.

Step_1. Open your livexp folder and rename i386 directory to minint.

Step_2.Copy contents of LiveXP to C:\

Step_3.Copy grldr and menu.lst from grub4dos to c:\ (you can download mine
from attachment.)

Step_4.Open c:\menu.lst by notepad, delete all contents of it and
just type lines below on it:
--------------------------------
color black/cyan yellow/cyan
timeout 0
default 0

title WinBuilder LiveXP
find --set-root /minint/setupldr.bin
chainloader /minint/setupldr.bin
-------------------------------------

of course if you download my files you will not need step_4

Step_5.Add line below at end of your boot.ini

C:\grldr="Start LiveXP"

==================================================

Now any time that you boot your computer ,you can select
"Start LiveXP" from the boot menue, and then livexp will
be runned from hard.

Note: I have found other ways to run livexp from hard
but the way i talked about is better in my knowledge.

Thats all

Hi Shirin
I'm new to this software, Aero Studio, so all I kow about it is that you can make multiboot cd/dvd's with it. Something like EasyBoot.
Now I figure it out how to create a menu and so but what I can't find anywhere is what is the tree structure of the cd/dvd that is to be created and when you deploy to creating an image .iso of the project what should be included as it asks for a folder to be included.
I'm trying to make a multiboot with XP (not live cd), Vista and some other, they are all .iso files.
Now it makes sense to understand that these files should be included in the deployed .iso but if the tree structure goes too deep then the .iso files won't be found unless the commands (bcdw (cd)/images/ati.iso) are edited with the right path.
I've seen other newbies have the same problem.
Could you help with a proper description or example of the cd/dvd tree structure? This would be the tree structure of the folder to be deployed for generating the .iso file.

Thanks in advance....

Hi dear paulika

1)_ I am going to write a tutorial about using aerostudio to make multiboot DVD/CD in few days later.
in this tutor i will tell how you can have multiOS setup and some other boot options.
i mean i will explain how to have several OS setups (for example different versions of XP) in one
CD/DVD and select which one to setup.and some else

2)_ Running iso from multiboot media,In real world or at least in my exprements, most of the times
are imposible (Of course not for all images),specialy when we want to do this by xp system iso's.

Any way i will talk more in tutor few days later (in aero page of course)

have nice times
