Hi :loleverybody:

For my side I used a long time Bartpe (ucbd4win).

my primary reason using vistape is "driver integrations"
this is more comfortable and easier then bartpe etc... imagex-mountrw-peimg driver integration-unmount commit- ready for re-create iso :w00t: great.

Vistape ist downward compatible - bartpe not. is not configured for future yet. and i don't know if there are planning also
vista live recovery disk to handle vista os.

so i think in the moment is Vistape the most interesting windows live disk

I also like the fact that it already has many compatible drivers.

Also I like that it immediately recognized the USB ports. It also is so easy to make a bootable USB thumbdrive. Then another feature is how it runs in memory. I think it is about time the Microsoft released something like this that can be used for something other than installations. :loleverybody:

I think, what h7se ment is, why VistaPE, when one can have one of the projects based on XP/2k3, which are more mature.

Hi,MedEvil :loleverybody:
Yes you are right

So the main advantage for VistaPE is hardware detection ?

but don't you think that the Name VistaPE is so fancy comparing to the Gui,it's more like windows98 :w00t:

Thanks

Yes, the UI is always a step back (thanks to M$).

I'm actually crossing my fingers for the newer kde4 which is promissed to run natively under windows and bring more than enough eye candy - but it's not easy to guess memory requirements until it is released..

So there's a reason that VistaPE does not use Explorer as shell, besides size?

Whenever i enter the forums I find a large number of visitors in VistaPe Section :loleverybody: ..
my question what make VistaPe so popular,

Well Vista is new and new things often attaract higher attention.

once i had a chance to download ready to use vistape iso file some where in the net, after first test in virtualpc >> [Shift]+[Del] :w00t:

Legal ready-to-use VistaPE iso-images are impossible - but using the Windows AIK package (can be downloaded for free on MS homepage) it is possible to build a leightweight VistaPE without even having a Vista DVD.

I for example first heard of VistaPE when the german magazine Chip published a WinBuilder-VistaPE package that only needed WindowsAIK for building a VistaPE - I found that very interesting and here I am...
