Hello Team, i am currently attempting to run explorer on the WinPE v10.0.14915 that comes from the CopyPE command.

Using my GetDeps program to help me, no registry or files other than explorer.exe are detected, even when pre-checking the file for imports.

I just get the error when running from a command line: The system cannot execute the specified program.

I followed the explorer shell script from Win10PESE and got nothing. (adding files & reg) I thought it may be due to msvc missing, but even after installing that, it refuses to exec. It does not require .Net.

All I can think of is WinSxS assemblies to blame.

Anyone have any ideas? Thank you

Even after applying the image, im still getting the error. There is no error dialog, just the text "The System cannot execute the specified program."

That error may also be generated by the stupid Zone Applocker (or whatever is called nowadays).

Check your NTFS streams (rare but possible).

Double check with Dependency Walker, maybe your script missed *something*.

Next suspect would be some mismatch in WinSxS (for *whatever* reason) :dubbio:.

In case, better make a post in the thread given by wimb, spleenharvester might notice it and provide some further suggestions/explanatons on what he did.

I am not sure to understand , you mean that Dependency Walker does not run in Windows 10?
It should:
http://stevemiller.net/apps/
http://www.dependencywalker.com/

Or you get that error when you try to load (or trace) Explorer.exe? :dubbio:

lol, no. Running depends against explorer.exe gives that error when I run a profile. Depends works fine

On seconds note, the differences on versions may be to blame...explorer.exe 10.0.14915, and WinPE 10.0.14393  :suda:

Im going to try to get the latest WinPE, and work with that base image.
