The reboot.pro forum is built upon Invision Power Services IP.Board software. The forum utilises BBCode - or at least the IP.Board implementation of it. Please note that BBCode that works elsewhere, may not work here.

Please note that a knowledge of BBCode is not required when using the forum (e.g. to post or reply to topics) - the built in editor does include a range of formatting options.

I personally find the forum's built in editor to be buggy and frustrating as hell to use. I always manually enter my BBCode by selecting the BBCode Mode button in the top left of the editor. Actually I usually cut and paste from Notepad once I've entered BBCode mode - please do note that when cutting and pasting from notepad, ensure that notepad Word Wrap is not enabled.

I have attempted to list some of the more common BBCode in this topic, that is supported on the reboot.pro forum at the time of writing.

Before listing some of the supported BBCode, please note that tags are used. Unlike html tags (which enclose supported tags in < and > seperators), BBCode uses square brackets ([ and ]) to enclose tags.

For those note familiar with tags, opening and closing tags are required. Using one of the more basic tags for Bold text as an example -
- Opening tag - [b]
- Closing tag - [/b]

Any text between these opening and closing tags will be displayed as Bold text. The BBCode [b]This is bold text[/b] is displayed as -
- This is bold text

Nested Tags

Tags can be nested - for example text can be Bold and Underlined.

Examples

[b][u]Bold and Underlined[/u][/b] - Bold and Underlined

[i][u]Italic and Underlined[/u][/i] - Italic and Underlined

[i][b][u]Italic, Bold and Underlined[/u][/b][/i] - Italic, Bold and Underlined

[color=red][b][u]Red, Bold and Underlined[/u][/b][/color] - Red, Bold and Underlined

Quotes can also be nested. For example -
[quote name="Misty"]This is a quote[quote]This is a nested quote[/quote][/quote] -

This is a quote

This is a nested quote

And another example -
[quote name="Misty"]This is a quote[quote][color=red][b][u]This is a nested quote with Red, Bold and Underlined text[/u][/b][/color][/quote][/quote] -

This is a quote

This is a nested quote with Red, Bold and Underlined text

And an example with a nested quote that contains a codebox -
[quote name="Misty"]This is a quote[quote][color=red][b][u]This is a nested quote with Red, Bold and Underlined text[/u][/b][/color][code]This is a code box nested in the nested quote![/code][/quote][/quote] -

This is a quote

This is a nested quote with Red, Bold and Underlined text

This is a code box nested in the nested quote!
