I'm a bit confused right now after lots of fruitless testing, but to me it looks like a basic file selection isn't working anymore in the latest bare-bones PE's (Windows 10 > 14393). I'm not sure anyone of you has even bothered testing the latest PE's (I'm taking them from the preview ESDs, exporting index 2 or 3 with Wimlib, or using winre.wim).
When using any file selector (for example in a portable text editor), after selecting the file (clicking it or selecting with "Enter") I get "not implemented", which is very weird, I don't recall ever having problems with such a basic task (I've tested all PE version imaginable over the years).
The PE is working fine overall, files load perfectly fine if you select them directly from the command line, it's just the GUI selector that's failing. Of course I've checked with Procmon, but there's no obvious missing file or anything (as far as I can see, not an expert on Procmon).
Like I said, nobody probably tried the PEs from the previews, but if anyone can point me to something I should be checking....?
(If you want to give it a try, I'll share with you in more detail how I extract the pe from the preview, I'm just extracting index 2 or 3, or take winre from \recovery, mount, set-targetpath, remove unneeded packages [but the error also occurs on a full winre], unmount, put on usb with needed boot files)
