Hiren’s boot cd is now legal?

Remember reading a number of posts saying something similar to "Hiren's Boot CD is an illegal disc which distribute Microsoft code without permission. So we don't support Hiren in this place."

While searching for discussions concerning Hiren’s Boot CD and alternative repair CDs, recently read "Hiren’s boot cd is now legal?  https://discuss.howt...now-legal/11252

Redistributing XP files without manufacturer permission: It's illegal still.

Yes right in the picture on there, it shows MiniXP. So it is still warez.

From that discussion - just because MS isn't going to prosecute it does NOT make it "legal"...Now, if they got a special "license" from MS to distribute it, that would be different, but that is not likely to happen  :jaclaz:
