sony xmb Intervideo Instanton linux

Hi guys

i'm trying to boot my intervideo instant on linux with grub4dos on my pc but it fails to start and leaving a message

"couldn't find valid ram disk image starting at 0"

"kernel panic - not syncing : VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)

Can anybody help me

i've two files which contains the boot codes which is initrd.pam, kernel.pam

these 2 files contains

kernel.pam - /InstantON/ivi root=/dev/ram0 ramdisk=5120 vga=0x317

initrd.pam - /InstantON/ivi-fs

Well which EXACT commands are you attempting to use in grub4dos?

How EXACTLY that "sony xmb intervideo instant on linux" (whatever it is) would boot "normally" (without grub4dos)? 

Loosely, it seems like a Linux kernel, generically on grub4dos command line you would:

kernel <kernel> <append options>

initrd <initrd>

boot

In your case it would be likely *something* like:

find --set-root /InstantON/ivi

root 

kernel /InstantON/ivi root=/dev/ram0 ramdisk=5120 vga=0x317

initrd /InstantON/ivi-fs

boot

(of course the first two lines are only needed if you don't have already the root established on the device the contains the files)

The general idea is that sentences ending with a little hook sign, conventionally called "question mark" are actually questions:

for which it would be kind to have corresponding answers.

As well commands when issued on a command line (not inside a a menu.lst entry) produce feedback lines, which you should post, as sometimes they help in understanding what the issue is.

And finally try to describe WHAT actually you are after, WHERE you got the *whatever* you are trying to boot, WHERE (on whch hardware, etc.) it is intended to boot, WHERE (on which hardware, etc.) you are trying to boot it instead, etc., etc. 

Right now you are providing not enough data to even start assisting you with your issue, what I posted earlier were - as stated - "general" advice/info on how a Linux kernel and initrd are loaded by grub4dos, but depending on a number of factors, including the hardware involved, the kind of media on which the files are and probably a zillion other factors there may be the need to add/change parameters (or even edit the contents of the initrd).

i don't know which one but i've found some files (kernel.pam, initrd.pam) which has the boot code to boot. so i tried the commands with grub4dos

I don't know how it boots exactly, but i like to put it in my pen drive. I love SONY's XMB menu so i thought it would be nice if i put it in my pen drive and boot and play music with it   . Please help me
