Hi all,
Just assessing Native VHD boot for my new computer with Win7Ux64. Having created a 'base' I thought I'd try out Win Image Backup/System image and restore.
I haven't made much progress as I have discovered that the WindowsImageBackup, although successful, is corrupt/unreadable from the recover/repair console.
Am I wasting my time with this method of backup/repair/restore?
I have also just tried converting the VHD from Fixed to dynamic in HV-2012 and it bombs out so I suspect there's something wrong with the VHD itself.
I'm posting here as there id nothing I have found yet after 18 hours of discovering some of the interesting things that might happen going down the VHD boot method.
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light on this.

My apologies for replying to my own post.
SOLVED
The VHD seemed corrupt but the situation has been resolved by using Acronis WD free edition to back up as a TIB and thereafter converting the TIB to VHD in Acronis Home edition 2013 30 free day trial!
Ironically Acronis Tru Image Backup and Recovery does not appear to have this feature.
The recovered VHD is smaller and all (12) Activations have been preserved!
Woohooo
