LiveXP is a stable, highly configurable booting platform; based on Windows XP and uses your Windows installation disc as source. Featuring a full GUI (explorer) for easy browsing, copy/backup of files and running tools for diagnoses and repair of host OS. You can boot most any machine, regardless of architecture or OS running on host; builds which run from RAM ensure maximum performance. Many useful tools (hundreds) are available for use in LiveXP which can be added at any time (without rebuilding the project) and the PE itself allows for easy customization.

LiveXP is a great way to launch portable apps, allowing for even greater flexibility and performance. The programs are setup to be cross compatible so you can utilize the same portables from multiple boot disks, like Win7PE_SE. Bootable from any media, including CD/DVD; USB/UFD; HDD etc. with or without multi-boot options. Fully suited for 'newcomers' and advanced users alike.

Well, it is a tutorial

I'm not sure what you mean by edit LiveXP; the projects are meant to be run as is (at least at first) until you know what you are doing. All you need to select is your unmodified (no nLite or similar), retail (no OEM) XP installation source (copied from CD to folder on hard drive). Then run the project and confirm ISO is booting in VM or burned to CD. That's it!

Now, once you're sure everything is working with default setup, you can start adding program scripts (or portables) and making other changes but not until you have a working build and read thru the tutorial a bit. If you have specific questions on changes you need to make, by all means ask ;)
