I upgraded the hard drive of an old HP-Compaq nc6000 and discovered that the CD/DVD drive doesn't show up on the BIOS as a boot device. I'm limited to the Hard Disk and LAN boot. Fortunately, I already have a functioning PXE setup in my network but the server is a Linux Machine (uses dnsmasq and tftp). So far, I have been able to adapt the setup to accomodate more releases of Fedora and one instance of Windows Vista PE. It evolves when the need arises
This latest challenge requires Windows XP. I can't seem to hit any straight tutorial on the subject. There's a nice one here but it is for Windows Server and I'm blank when it comes to adjusting the winnt.sif file since it uses Windows file structure. Has anyone been through this path before?
