... most probably he/she will find me through 911CD or MSFN in the next three months.

I am self-suspending myself for three months (unless someone will ban me for good in the meantime :ph34r:) for having THOUGHT that a few late decisions in the Administration of the board are pure folly, and I won't check PM's on reboot.pro during this period.

No, I won't say WHICH specifically they are IMNSHO, but those involved with the Community will understand that allright, I just wish to point out how a board is often called "discussion board", and the possibility to have discussions in it is vital.

See you all (hopefully :)) on August 31.

Have fun while I am away :thumbsup:.

:cheers:

Should I hit the "Like This" button for the post above?

No, I won't say WHICH specifically they are IMNSHO, but those involved with the Community...

Your reasoning has one critical flaw. If you take a turn to protest against some action in public, you have to make your intended audience understand what "noble" cause you are fighting for.

P.S. May I take the vacation as a regular "sanity" check "Inside the ASSylum"?

Who gave wonko the right to protest (regardless of the cause)?
When you're wonko, you are NOT allowed to strike!
That is highly discouraged...

who said you can "self-suspend"?

Interesting question :thumbsup: , though mis-represented :w00t:, the right one being:

who said I cannot "self-suspend"?

BTW, my previous post merely states:

The suspension period has elapsed.

which does not necessarily imply that:
  • I am back for anything but replying to PM's
    or that:
  • I am back and will take part to the board activities as I did before
    or that:
  • I am back at all
but thanks anyway to all for the warm "welcome back" :).

If we had thought for just a heartbeat, that you actually meant to come back, we wouldn't have posted such rubbish! :poke: :lol:

That's wonko alright!

Well, what was suspended?
  • replying to PM's
  • taking part to the board activities as usual
So, what else would "The suspension period has elapsed" mean?
And what does it actually mean in wonko terms?

Though I refrained myself from replying onto this topic since last few hours, now I feel an irresistible desire to share a few of my interesting findings with the community.

@LeMOGO
When you browse through reboot pages, have you ever scrolled down to the right bottom of the pages to find one "Site policies" link? If not, I have already hyperlinked. The "Etiquette" section clearly mentions that, "Forum participants should treat each other with respect, recognising their right to freedom of opinion and expression." It RE-answers your question

who said you can "self-suspend"?

@Everyone out here
Now, the following link directs me to a page which lists down member# 43807's posts in reverse chronological order of time. I quote some of them exactly in the same order, first being the most recent one.
  • 55 minutes ago (In Topic: Should anyone need "talking" to me....)
  • 2 hours ago (In Topic: Should anyone need "talking" to me....)
  • 24 June, 2012 (In Topic: Should anyone need "talking" to me....)
  • 23 June, 2012 (In Topic: Should anyone need "talking" to me....)
  • 23 June, 2012 (In Topic: First annual REBOOT conference)
What we can conclude from the above data are:
  • LeMOGO has reconsidered contributing back to the board after a period of 2 months and 9 days approx. AND
  • also by choosing a purely non-tech topic titled as "Should anyone need "talking" to me...." WHICH
  • he doesn't know ANY left-and-right WHILE
  • the period he was vanished was a bit less than the period of Wonko's self-suspension
Curious me found some more info here:

"Total Topics Started: 3 topics"

, the latest one being "First annual REBOOT conference".

In plain, simple English, a troll can find much better places to spend (in a sense of "waste") his time than pulling the legs of someone having 7098 + 6731 informative/humorous posts quite a while back ONLY at reboot/boot-land.

Yep :), but you see, you may well be wrong!

@Holmes.Sherlock
Comeon :), the general idea is (was) to be a community and be friendly, LeMOGO, by his own nature, needs to have things said a few times to get convinced (or to completely fail to nonetheless), nothing bad about it (pssss: he is not yet convinced about volumes and filesystems...).
More generally, the idea of things like Site Policies is that they should be integrally respected, the sheer moment that one of them is - continuosly - breached, the whole set loses relevance.

@LeMOGO
Just fake that you are sane, or at least as sane as Wonko (the Sane) is, and not only you will have the answer to those questions, but most probably you will have better questions..... ;)
WHich proverb are you referring to about the "cup of water"? :unsure: :dubbio:

Naah, I suspect that LeMOGO iterating the same sentence time and again is somehow associated with the echo produced in a large hall which a sound engineer frequently experiences.

I have already set up a multi site presentation for a teacher who was in South America in those very locations (both). I am also a sound engineer, and during that presentation I piped the sound from the computer into the room, and from the mics to the internet and everything worked flawlessly (and without feedback )and I still have the equipment (mine).
And I can install anything else..
