Never undertsood in the first place, why everyone was so taken by Ubuntu.
No matter, what part one considers to be the key element on a good OS, there was always a way better solution.

I for one like the look. I dont primarely use the Linux distros but as an alternative to other os's, they are not bad.
I like the point he makes that not everone is willingly ready to store their data in the cloud.

Personally I always liked KDE much better than Gnome, it must be a trail of the 2K vs. XP tradition.....
Seriously, apart from the looks, whenever I try an Ubuntu it feels to me a lot more "gummy" then what I would expect (and then what other skinner/simpler distro's feel).

What upsets me the most is the tendency to remove simple things like the possibility to view more than one single program window at the desktop.

I would love to see some study on how, which percentages of people use their OS.
Not just Linux but Windows too.
Maybe to target exclusivly the 'morons' makes perfect business sense.
Look at the wave of 3 button browsers, these days. 10-15 years ago nobody would have used such a crippled piece of #§$%.
