Updating Live XP To work on all LAN & MASS STORAGE scenarios

It's time for an update to my trusty Live-XP Iso. Lately I got to some computers which alas the HDD drive was not
detected and also some lan drivers missing.
I got the new 80 Winbuilder from Live-XP New comers come here bit and began my quest.

Firstly, dumb question but I gotta ask, when using driver import PA PE and I can point to a zip of a driver pack etc
can I add drivers for windows 7 32/64 Vista 32/64 as well or just XP?

Also should I add the drivers here for the LAN/WLAN or use the folder option in the penetwork parts where you can
point to folder and do a similar thing ?

This should be handled by DP's Mass Storage Drivers script in Drivers -> 4 - Storage. Try updating the DriverPack in "WorkbenchCommonDPsMassStorage" or select 'Check for new DP..' option in script.

You can try, it won't hurt but it probably won't work since the drivers are supporting a LiveXP, you want XP compatible drivers.

Either one, they both work well but drivers are imported differently so if one doesn't work, try the other.

Ahh I'm having trouble guys ;-(

I am literally setting the drivers for mass storage
adding unzipped driver packs to penetwork folder
selecting universal video driver
adding a wallpaper
then setting up apps (which to have short cuts etc)
not much else


Then just setting what short cuts I want.

I want the ISO to boot in grub4dos as a direct ISO map but I cant get it to work
I'm embarrassed coz I managed a year ago ok, and now I cant do it!!!!

Here's the thing I'm messing up I think if I go to ISO as the main image BSOD - ok I know thats wrong

and followed the CreateXXISO_ISO part and all my efforts just hang at the end of the progress bar for loading ramimage

now do I run the project as SDI boot?..THEN....do this ISO bit...or do I do WIM image then run the iso bit?

any help welcome as I'm losing hours on it LOL

Basic advice, start simple and work your way back.

Start with simple project, like this one: http://www.mediafire...z33kkel2rs9k8b5 and try it with default settings. Test the ISO in VM or boot from CD to confirm everything working OK. If the ISO is working like this, there's no reason it shouldn't boot from grub4dos menu if setup correctly and hardware supports it but make sure you have a working boot image first.

As far as adding drivers, this requires plenty of trial and error but are they really needed? Please try the project above and see if issues still persist, if so, we'll take it from there.

Well, of course, DriverImportPE AE

Seriously, Dipe is the best for LiveXP; I use DP NIC to support most machines automatically on boot and have a small collection of AV drivers for common hardware. This suits my needs quite well; Dipe auto-import finds any drivers you have and attempts to install, works especially well with DP's and custom packages but also any loose drivers are imported as well.

It's not needed since SATA drivers are included in DPs; there are other custom packages out there but DPs are pretty good and should support most hardware out of the box. Again, mass storage drivers should be handled via DPs Mass Storage Drivers script, you can update the DP if needed.
