Have tried creating a script for this program; however, it is more advanced than my abilities.

Product Key Explorer - Find Product Key, Recovery and Backup

Have tried creating a script for this program; however, it is more advanced than my abilities.

So, what did you try???

It is really pretty simple...

First, I would install the product onto your own local machine...Often a program will need to write a lot of things into the registry, and it can get complex. In this case, that doesn't seem to be true, and the final program file directory is pretty much self contained.

That's a good thing, since you can then follow the tutorial, and add the files...

Start with a working project...

In the tutorial, it looks like the name of the "tools" section was changed but the icon is the same... :cheers:

Follow the steps, and put it in the top level "apps" folder...you can move it later if you'd like.

Name the file "Product Key Explorer" (which will create the .script file for you...

For step 3, just add all the files in the Product Key Explorer directory (you could omit the in-intallation files). You can add them one at a time, or select them all at ones (in the add files tab)

For step 4, modify the code so that it has the names of the program and executable...

[main]

Title=ProductKeyExplorer

Description=ProductKeyExplorer

Selected=True

Level=5

Version=1

[variables]

%ProgramTitle%=ProductKeyExplorer

%ProgramEXE%=ProductKeyExplorer.exe

%ProgramFolder%=ProductKeyExplorer

Basically, follow the rest of the tutorial to learn more, but that's pretty much all you need for a simple start. Note: this needs a key to really be useful, but you can enter it at run time. One trick might be to create a text file with the key code in it, and add that as to the installation (so you always have it handy).

Good Luck!!!

Give a man a fish...

Hi Sirquil,

Got your message, here you go: PKExplorer Script, just in case it wasn't so easy :)

If you have any questions, of course, ask.

;)
