Boot usb with Burg or Grub24Dos

I see now that I posted this in the wrong group. Sorry. Please move this to the right group.
Which I suppose should be "Boot from USB / Boot anywhere"

I am building a multi-boot stick (For now I use a partition on my hd, but it will be transfered to a usb-stick or usb-hdd when it's done) With Hirens_13.2 and Rescatux. I got them booting succefully. And I would like to add some other tools as well - Ubuntu live cd 10.10, and a few more.

As I read that grub24Dos and burg supports booting from (some) iso's then I would like to rebuild my installation and use one of them instead..


So - here is my questions.

1: How do I Install burg or Grub24dos on a separate partition within Windows xp.?

2: Could I chainload any of them via syslinux.? How do I do that.?

3: Which of them to prefere in front of the other.? Is there any comparisions done between them.?

Take some time reading the forum.
There is no *need* for grub24dos or burg, as both grub4dos and syslinux/isolinux can manage the .iso (and are at the moment much more tested).

Instead of using Warez, you coud build your own PE.

The one you most likely will use : the MS files are not redistributable.

If you prefer, why BartPE or UBCD4WIN or Winbuilder do not make available ALREADY built PE's, but rather give you the tools to build one from the source you already have licensed?

And why instead most Linux LiveCD's or ReactOS come pre-built?

I think that Hirens 13.2 uses VistaPe which is free to download.

No prob , you are wrong.

VistaPE is a Winbuilder project.
What is offered for download on NeoSmart site is NOT "VistaPE" it is a "Windows Vista Recovery Disc".
The file is still NOT redistributable, which means that (provided that the Neosmart guys do have a license to redistribute it) you cannot download it and then put it on your server and let other people download it.

But apart from the above, you can get BOTH a PE 2.x (Vista based) or a PE 3.x (Windows 7 based) by downloading the respective AIK's/WAIK's directly form Microsoft.

Original Microsoft PE 1.x was never available for download.
Hence the need of BartPE builder and Winbuilder, as to be able to create a PE 1.x from files you already have.
