It's not convenient to customize the boot menu by editing the *.cfg file. Can you include a oot Menu Editor in SARDU?

Why you want to change something that works? SARDU is this. In the license it says that you should not change anything: the background etc.
If one doesn't accept these limits should not use SARDU.
User can edit the file extra.cfg. Why only few user they do this? Simple. Because in this case is the user who needs to know what to do. Not put the blame on me.

I do not intend to change the background, but I want to correct the name of PE on the Boot Menu, just their names. SARDU can't detect some ISO, so I have to change their names before creating the bootable USB drive. I want to correct them. It's not very convenient to do it manually.

Then I must apologize because I have already changed the syslinux.cfg file on my usb-drive and also the isolinux.cfg file for my iso with TedNotepad.
(I removed “Menu tools” since I don’t need it)

Is the License the "copyng_SARDU" (which should be "copying_SARDU") in the Sardu2.zip ?

If it is there is NO such provision in it.

That provision is for disassembling or decompiling the software.

That is to prevent people to learn HOW you do things, NOT to prevent them have (and modify as they like) WHAT you do (the result of running your program).

There is NO legal (let alone enforceable) possible provision to prohibit editing a plain TEXT file.

Heck! Even Microsoft allows modifications to BOOT.INI, more generally .ini files and to the BCD and to the Registry (even if the latter ones are not "plain text").

BTW, IF such provisions were enforceable, SARDU would be NOT compatible with any "Free" software license AND would void the GNU license of most of the tools you use "under the hood" in Sardu.

Remember that all you are creating is a (nice ) Isolinux/Syslinux .cfg file which users ARE allowed to modify when and as they wish or see fit.

Do not confuse "Free" (as in freedom) with "Free" or "Freeware" (as in "free beer").

That's another thing.

The world is full of people that like to take whatever is available, without even taking a few seconds to thank whomever is giving that to them and they are never happy with what they get (for free).

But this is not the case, as I see it.

An user pointed out what (according to him) would be a nice ADDITIONAL feature to SARDU.

This is usually called "feature request", and it is common that users ask developers to add something that they may have overlooked or didn't think about.

Obviously, you are perfectly free to NOT add the requested feature, and also SUGGEST to not modify the .cfg generated by SARDU, but definitely you CANNOT prohibit doing ANY edit/change to them.

What you did is perfectly legal and compatible with the SARDU license.
Everyone is free to change a Syslinux or Isolinux .cfg, NO MATTER which app originally generated it.
