I just released Syslinux 4.00-pre40. This is now a Release Candidate,
meaning that it is on track to be released as it currently is unless I
hear back about currently unexpected problems.

If you have a chance, please pretty please test it.

Syslinux 4.00-pre40 supports FAT12/13/32, ext2/3/4 and brtfs (ext4 and brtfs a new supported filesystems). Filesystem code is written in C in the 4.00 branch (in 3.xx is was written in assembler). So if anybody is interested in adding NTFS support, don't hesitate  .
