Sorry, topic is about MULTI7PE not win7rescuePE

Setup,
Winbuilder 080

I have both Windows 7 OPK, as well as Vista AIK (two diff machines) both on x64.

I installed 080, checked updates.bootland and win7 checkboxes

Tried to build (in no tabs does it ask me where Windows 7/Vista OPK/AIK is) by hitting Go.

I get an error during build, asking for certain tools.
I find in a tools subfolder a tools.txt telling me what tools I need in this folder

I search both the AIK and OPK folders for x86 equivelants of these files, and what's missing I pull from the link posted in the tools.txt file, I place these files in the tools folder.

Try to build again.

Build goes through after about 45 minutes.

Burn iso and boot.

Build boots up (yay! ;) ), get a wallpaper (yayer! ;) ), a little demon looking mouse cursor (yesser! :( ).

And reboot! (no... ;) )

Please, any help would be appreciated. I perused through some forums. I was really dissapointed that I couldn't find a Build 080 win7rescuePE tutorial. All the tutorial are for older versions (and even with 77 rc 2, I didn't find a tab for selecting the opk/aik path).

a.) please add a log file
b.) the tutorial is linked in the introduction post of the project
http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=75222
the tutorial:
http://psc.boot-land...in7RescuePE.doc

for me it sounds that you have bsexplorer as shell but not checked the bsexplorer script.

I have that tutorial. That tutorial isn't a complete working set of instructions. It doesn't tell me about the tools.txt app list I need to complete, and it also gives me instructions on aik folder selection that doesn't exist for version 080. What I was talking about, was a tutorial on the most recent working version of winbuilder.

Thanks for the insight on the script I need to uncheck, i'll try again once I get home.

I don't have bsexplorer checked.

Your building a Multi Win7PE not a Win7 RescuePE so you have everyone confused with topic title

Yes with a Multi Win7PE you must add tools that are listed in the txt. Document

oh...

Well. The original instructions had me adding a joshua. something server that I couldn't add, the server was down. I thought that the multi win7pe was the logical extension of the win7rescuePE.

Either way, I should revise my title, but the build process is still incomplete. It still fails on boot up.

Well reading the instructions for RescuePe and building a Multi Win7PE I can understand if it does not boot..

Is this your first Winbuilder project?

This is not the easiest project to build,,, I want to let you know that right now

First thing read this from post 1 Multi Win7PE

Some tools can be found in other projects. Download and install WAIK,, all the information is in linked post

thank you so much, that's the link I needed. Looks like I have to build it in xp, because it wants me to install an xp driver (wtf!!!). But oh well, it didn't build now under win7, and I know I can't install that fltmgr.inf driver in win7, so I'm gonna throw my hands up for now, because I don't have an xp machine readily available other than my pain in the ass netbook.

How do I thank you? I see there's a thank statistic.

thanks, that link helped. I had to install the .inf files that were in the tools folder and fltmgr folder, then reboot, voila, it worked.
