What is the problem with pressing ALT+Enter? ;)

Just in case there is a Registry key:

Well, it doesn't matter.

Any build that uses CMD.EXE as shell.

When you boot, you may have either:
  • CMD.EXE in windowed mode
  • CMD.EXE in Full-screen mode

When you have booted, keep pressed ALT key and press ENTER key.

Does it switch to the "other" mode?

Check the Registry for the mentioned key.

You can use (offline) RAWREG:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4684

Or load the hive DEFAULT with Regedit, edit the entry and unload it.

Registry editing is supposed to be an "advanced" topic, you can easily break the whole thing, so be careful.

Hi,
is it possible to get a full screen pressing alt+enter in livexp/nativepe barebone?

if I press alt+enter, the message returns me:
the peripheral video has not been initialized in mode to full screen (translate by italian to english)

Thanks

No need to double post.

Topics merged.

You'll need to wait for psc, probably in barebone he stripped off some functionality. ;)

I do not think that I stripped off some functionality.

It seems to be a feature of a PE that the cmd full screen cannot be created.

If you try with a Reatogo XPE, thame result.

Then, schumy has two alternatives:

;)

"Plain" BartPE is reported to work:
http://www.911cd.net...showtopic=19349
;)

Unrelated, but not much:

With nativeex barebone works USB, NTFS, and adding some files they also work the commands chkdsk, attrib etc etc, and the system boot with 27 mb of ram

if I don't use nativeex barebone, I would not have these functions

I have doubts.

If my reatogo CD does not work: What is ommitted compared to plain BartPE?

Can somebody (I do not have it) try in a plain BartPE: Open cmd.exe and click <Alt><Enter>?

Now we have the big question:

What is missing?

Can you post the registry hives and a dir > textfile of the working BartPE?

you can try to download nativeex_barebone(complete) from winbuilder 076,
and to setting as me.
_______
on WBManager, I have not removed anything, I have setting only:

on " define fundament "-----> " Project with command shell "
"Ram Drive Letter"-----> "--"
"settings drive: "-------> "system drive"
________
on BUILD I have removed "Replace dll files", "AutoIT support", "ole support", "fips", "native FBWF", "infSupport"
and I have settings:
on "Hojope Hives Factory"----> required memory 33554432
on "build model"----> I have removed "created always modelram.exe"
on "copy and expand file"----> I have removed the two "copies....."
_________
on Shell I have removed all, I have left only "Set CMD.exe as default shell"
and I have removed "add ram drive" and "set temp.... "
__________
on Tweak I have removed all, I have left only "CMD Windows settings" 25,80,10,black,white
__________
I have removed RestoreBase, Apps, diag

on Drivers I have selected "Universal Video", and "Usb Mass Storage support"

in finish\optimization I have selected only "AUTOUPX", "Local Additions"

in the file ISO, has added chkdsk, attrib,e their dependent file

result:
19 mb ISO with support usb, CMD and boot in 27 mb of ram

if I press alt+enter, cmd returns

the peripheral video has not been initialized in mode to full screen (translate by italian to english)

with xpsp2 enu --> the video device failed to initialize for full screen mode

also on complete livexp (with explorer, etc) alt+enter doesn't work

going further with default LiveXP builds:
LiveXP minimum cmd->alt+Enter dont work  --> Adding dos16bit.Script (16 Bit support) alt+Enter works
LiveXP recommended cmd->alt+Enter dont work :) --> Enableing dos16bit.Script (16 Bit support) alt+Enter works

I believe this shouldnt be fixed with dos16bit.Script (16 Bit support) (well name of the script gives the reason ! edit1: maybe i am wrong :), it is dos16bit.script's duty, guru knows :( ) but at least I hope it will give a clue  what is missing and why alt+enter works in some PE and not in other.

in the file ISO, has added chkdsk, attrib,e their dependent file

I dont make 19MB builds ;) , Helping me a bit lazy ;) I will be glad if you can provide (clearly) info you use for chkdsk, attrib and their dependency.

Thanks Lancelot! ;)

The 16bit is a great finding (and typical feature by Billy the Door)

I'll try to find wihich of the files is responsible and add to CMDTweaks.Script.

add to CMDTweaks.Script.

Than a minnnni request ;)
* since this adding will be in CMDTweaks.script it will be better to select default (at least for livexp) as a result can we have "default" settings on the script?

Thanks.
Fantastic, I have added dos16bit of nativepe to nativeex barebone and the full screen it works.
nevertheless, the programs dos 16 bit don't work.
but the script dos16bit of nativepe works well with nativeex barebone? or must be modified?

I get 19mb with xp_ita(no enu)
to add attrib, chkdsk and others,
Some files must be inserted, cfgmgr32, ifsutil, ufat, sxs, ulib, umpnpmgr.
you can be inserted with an editor ISO, or modifying the file CopyAndExpand.Script
adding the command CopyorExpand under "echo, "Expanding System2 files... "

is it possible to also insert diskpart (what it doesn't work with the files described above)? and eventually also driver Sata with Dps Mass Storage drivers?

nativeEx is the core of LiveXP.
We (Galapo / Lancelot and me) try to hold this core syncronized.

And it can be assumed that nearly every LiveXP script can be added (maybe sometimes by adding more scripts).

I do not recommend to modify the standard core scripts like CopyAndExpand.Script.
For your reasons you should ad a new script.

I have made some tests,
it is not necessary to insert dos16bit script to have the full screen,
enough only to insert the file ega.cpi

I have modified the file CMDTweaks.script

replacing the line:
RegWrite, "HKLM", "0x4", "WB-Default\Console", "WindowSize",%Size%
with this:
RegWrite, "HKLM", "0x4", "WB-Default\Console", "FullScreen", "1"

and the line:
RegWrite, "HKLM", "0x4", "WB-Default\Console", "ScreenBufferSize",%Buf%
with this:
RegWrite, "HKLM", "0x4", "WB-Default\Console", "ScreenBufferSize", "190050"

and I have gotten the automatic full screen 80 lines x 25 columns

Hi schumy

on LiveXP (native ex barabone based project) we have
addDOSutils.script (addCMDutils)
till yesterday it was adding only the listed files, just started to add some dependencies  including cfgmgr32, ifsutil, ufat, sxs, ulib, umpnpmgr ;)..

You can help to improve addDOSutils.script. Well my goal is not making small builds but i hope your goal can make addDOSutils.script improve rapidly .
(ps: script named wrongly but title fixed as addCMDutils)

the link jacklazz gave is marvelous showing dependencies (including info for diskpart). Edit have you checed mmc script

ps: I guess better to use upcoming peter's cmdtweaks script to make your cmd window goal  so we can make improvements all together at once :).

and eventually also driver Sata with Dps Mass Storage drivers?

pick one from LiveXP project :). Totally we have 3 Dps mass scripts :(. 1 from Galapo using Dps's utility, 1 from Saydin77 using au3 coding, 1 from Olegpov ussing msst

@Peter

Would this be convenient?

Looks wonderful
Not to make unpleasent suprises to users How about changing Light Aqua and Blue, to Black White
OR
Make checkboxes for Initial Windows Size and Colors (with default unselected)
So we can set script default
and only select "add these files" as default. ;) ?!

Edit2:
LiveXP project list http://livexp.boot-land.net/

Edit3:
@schumy: downloading LiveXP recommended gives all essential scripts

Edit4:
@schumy: galapo's and saydin77's dps scripts are in LiveXP project, olegov's is on its page including additional Russian modified dps packs

That's what I showed two posts above.

But I'm still evaluating which files of the 16bit script are really needed, and want to include them in the script.
That will make the 16bit script with plenty of files unnecessary.

But that will take some more Latin hours.

Peter
