It's time for the next CTF to participate, possibly the most prestigious of the CTFs participated so far - DEFCON 20. Those who are unaware what DEFCON is, here is the Wiki link for them.

DEF CON (also written as DEFCON or Defcon) is one of the world's largest annual computer hacker conventions, held every year in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first DEF CON took place in June 1993.

Many of the attendees at DEF CON include computer security professionals, journalists, lawyers, federal government employees, crackers, cyber-criminals, security researchers, and hackers with a general interest in computer code, computer architecture, phone phreaking, hardware modification, and anything else that can be "hacked". The event consists of several tracks of speakers about computer- and hacking-related subjects, as well as social events and contests in everything from creating the longest Wi-Fi connection and cracking computer systems to who can most effectively cool a beer in the Nevada heat. Other contests include lockpicking, robotics-related contests (discontinued), art, slogan, coffee wars (not currently running), scavenger hunt and Capture the Flag. Capture the Flag (CTF) is perhaps the best known of these contests. It is a hacking competition where teams of hackers attempt to attack and defend computers and networks using certain software and network structures. CTF has been emulated at other hacking conferences as well as in academic and military contexts.

This year DEFCON 20 is being organized by Diutinus Defense Technologies Corp. aka DDTEK. They are pre-qualifying winners of other CTFs around the globe, e.g. DEFCON, RuCTFe, iCTF, CodeGate etc. Also what more alluring is

We While DEFCON refuses to sell-out to corporate sponsorship, DT is personally covering two rooms per team at the majestic RIO hotel Thursday-Sunday for each team.

Their registration process is a bit different from the other CTFs in the sense that

This year we are requiring all users to be affiliated with a team. (Which may consist solely of yourself). During quals we will allow multiple independent logins per team. If you are creating a new team you will receive a hash code specific to your team. In order to associate with an existing team, simply supply the team's hash code given to you by the person that created the team.

We, Team Reboot, has already registered in the event. Any other non-team member is also welcome to be a part of the show. The hash code mentioned above will be provided on request.

DEFCON 20 is over. It was a great fun for us, as usual. Moreover, we had joakim with us participating in this contest. Our team scored 500 points, thus ranking 144th among so many other teams from different parts of the globe.
