Some notes on the trials and tribulations faced when installing a clean version of Windows 10 on a Lenovo 100S (11IBY) - see here.

Includes a mini-review of the hardware, injecting keyboard/trackpad drivers to WinPE, CompactOS, etc.

NIce work  , but poor little girl. :w00t:

I mean, all children may be a little naughty sometimes, but did she really deserve Windows 10? :w00t:

Now now Wonko - no one deserves Windows 10 Home - that's why I put LTSB on it for her. For my personal use I'd have gone with Windows 8.1 Update, however I fear this would be too confusing for her after Windows 7.

P.s. If anyone knows a way of running Windows 7 32-bit on 32-bit UEFI firmware on a PC that does not have a CSM then please point me in the right direction. It's not so close to Christmas that I can't mess around a bit with my my daughter's new toy

Interesting challenge :).

I believe it is totally unexplored land.

I always wondered about the capabilities of a "later" BOOTMGR.EFI (Windows 8/8.1/10) of booting Windows 7 on such hardware.

Making a test with one of them and a Windows 7 .vhd would probably be relatively easy (just to see which kinds of issues it presents).

Otherways a good starting point would probably be to manage to boot to the 32 bit version of GRUB2, here:

but where to go from there? :dubbio:

Just had a quick look in Windows 7 install.wim - there doesn't appear to be a winload.efi in the 32-bit version. At some point I may have a play with using Windows 8.1 (or Windows 10!) boot files and winload.efi in Windows 7 to see how far it gets.

If you get the Windows 7 32-bit working on 32-bit UEFI firmware let me know
