hey Wimb, Alacrán and everybody, everything works here, even if I turned all instances of ; \ into \ from removesystemapps in winreduce.

my remove .net here

A lot of your .NET entries that you remove are NOT present in Fresh Installed Windows 10x64

x64 and 32-bits .NET 3 and 3.5 and x64 .NET 2.0 if present were installed by you ......

Please keep the discussion in this thread about making Mini-10x64 Or 11x64 from Fresh Installed 10 / 11 x64

To avoid confusion I think the discussion about your modded OS should be in your Get-alladafluff-out thread

of course they were installed by me, lest some software shoud not work. I will move like stuff to get-alladafluff-out anyway,

For accuracy's sake, I have just run wimbloat and winreduce on a fresh install, and both have behaved no differently.

Great discovery, at least I think so:

the \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispsi.inf_amd64_db8d3f1ff9f89487 folder is plethoric (1.12gb), so I tried deleting all files inside it while the vhd was online, and the following files would keep staying in:

nvlddmkm.sys

nvldumdx.dll

nvwgf2umx_cfg.dll

I tried rebooting and the system did ok,  but if u wanna play, I have just found out that it is another kettle of fish, or another fish of the same kettle, as u like it ---> u need the following file as well for gaming:

nvwgf2umx.dll

that is it! U'r dun! only 200 something megs. now go tell me that the spacegain is slight.

I believe the same should apply to AMD but I have no way to verify it. would anybody?

for those who have an I9 cpu, they could disable the following services as well:

"Intel® Capability Licensing Service TCP IP Interface"
    "jhi_service"
    "iaStorAfsService"
    "HfcDisableService"
    "RstMwService"
    "Intel® TPM Provisioning Service"

these entries have been taken away as such from my disable_services.ps1

they might as well be deleted by placing "sc delete" in front of each in a batch file.

a new freeware standalone service manager I have found: allows for listings at 3 levels (win32, kernel, all), as well as for loading and saving whenever one feels like it - very handy, unless otherwise proven. no harm in trying it out.

Define new.

If it is this one:

It is around since more than 10 years. I believe it came out around Vista times.

Update Manual:   VHD_WIMBOOT.pdf

Test with Win11_English_x64v1.iso gives Mini-11x64_US.vhd with UsedSize = 1.9 GB

Booting in UEFI mode from RAMDISK using SVBus driver - PowerShell and Advanced Firewall Settings are working OK

just outta curiosity, have u tested the speed of a vhd (a full 1) vs a conventional-installation system? I have a feeling that even with the greatest compression (lzx) for the vhd, it is hard to notice the difference if we are talking of I7 upward.

My experience is that Compact LZX VHD performance is just as good as Normal Installation.

Update VHD_WIMBOOT_Trusted-65

Download:  from wimb GitHub  -   VHD_WIMBOOT_Trusted-65

Download File E = Encrypted PassWord = bootwimb

Update Manual:   VHD_WIMBOOT.pdf

- Manual has been Updated to streamline the procedure and to take Win_Debloat into account

- New VHD Size - Default Setting reduced to 2.5 GB since we have much better control to keep the UsedSize below 2 GB

In this way the time to load Mini-10x64.vhd to RAMDISK is reduced  :)

- Added Option to Block Telemetry using WinTel\WinTel_Block.cmd - Thanks to alacran

Use WinTel_Block.cmd Only 1x since otherwise you Multiply the Advanced FireWall entries ! - Solved by version 30

so is mine, and perhaps even a tiny bit quicker!

this is why I see no prejudice to using vhd's for normal everyday operations, at least for i7-cpu-powered machines onwards.

btw. I have noticed my freespace shrink from 653meg to 647meg in a half-hour uptime, which is slight compared to alacrán's 130-most-meg - probably due to zero-byting or any other reason?

hey wimb, just a favor - would u tell me how to link windebloat to f:\portables\portableapps\powershellx64portable\pwsh.exe? that is the powershell I use

also the latest version of vhd_wimboot works like a charm

as for the vhd, free and used space have been staying the same for the past hour under ordinary operation (nothing major is being "written to disk" (quotes are for wonko lest he should gimme hell for possibly using untechnical lingo).

dear wimb,

I have tried the latest version of win debloat on a fresh system with powershell working and I can tell u it works fine. I would like to try it on powershell-less systems, but I am not sure it works ok. I have chopped powershell off of my usual vhd since I found a portable version of powershell. Win debloat cannot find the powershell it expects where it expects it to be. now, can we have win debloat work on ordinary cmd or tell us how to reinstall powershell ad hoc (just for the purpose of having win debloat work), or have, among the new features, the powershell install / reinstall / uninstall, or best off, tell me where to place the portable version of powershell in order to make win debloat work?

You can try to have powershell.exe at the default location

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
