Ok so every where i went in google i could only find that ruining sfc in a pe environment is impossible !!!so thats why im asking here if their is some way of ruining it, or if their is some sort of program like it for PE environment ? i found registry entrys to change the location and the target in sfc,but i cant seem to make the service run properly using the "sc" or "net start" command .i made a few progs already for vistape so i know sorta how to make pe progs (i even made my own eset4.2 and spybot loader progs for vistape. i did not post them cos thy work but has some small bugs...)

Maybe you can get something from this:
http://www.911cd.net...showtopic=23901

The build through this:
http://www.boot-land...?...7136&st=175

appears like *needing* to have SFC turned off, which should mean that otherwise it would work.

Cannot say how this may affect your build which if I get it right is Vista based, i.e. a PE 2.x.

I know that.

What I told you is that in the given thread (related to adding themes to XP based PE, i.e. PE 1.x) a problem was raised that SFC could NOT be turned OFF.

Unless I am mistaken, if you canNOT turn OFF something, it should mean that it is turned ON. :)

MS DaRT Toolsets contain SFC system file checker

Avgsmoe explains how to add it to SARDU here, and provides links

I would like to know how to get SFC running without having to have DART in/or on your image.

To perform an offline scan you use.........

SFC /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=C: /OFFWINDIR=C:WINDOWS

The message I get when I try to use it is...........

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

Anyone got any background on this?

Further research shows that you must remove/rename the windowswinsxspending.xml

Also there is an option that you'd perform on a full system here http://www.winhelpon...g-sfc-in-vista/
