Hi All,
I am new to this forum and have been searching for a solution to my problem but could not find anything that would solve it. I Have recently installed windows vista from an image file, everything went well until it rebooted into grub where i have been stuck since. It does not find the bootmgr or ntldr files. I have checked it detects both of my HD's and all 3 partitions (2 on the second HD) I believe my problem lies with the set up of my HD's but i am not sure. I Have two HD's one IDE and one SATA. Before i installed vista i had a copy of windows XP on both HDS of which i could select which one to boot. I am sure my ntldr is loacted on my IDE drive along with the bootmgr file as i used the grub find / command which located them, it just wont load them. If i try to locate them and use the command:
chainloader /bootmgr and chainloader /ntldr
trying these manually both cause Error 18: Inconsisten filesystem structure.
if u require any more details i will post. Any Help is appreciated. I am currently using my laptop lol
Thanks in advance.

It appears that i have the same error as sixx @ http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4507 perhaps we installed the same 'copy' of windows vista using an image file that automatically installs grub.

No, it seems that there is floating around some WAREZ release of Vista, that besides being illegal, amd possibly carrier of viruses or other malware, uses grub4dos' grldr setting it's menu.lst in a completely wrong way that makes some systems unbootable, see the thread found by ReeceMarsland:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4507
And this one where I helped repairing a similarly messed up situation:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=3833
I made an exception for mandie, because she appeared to me as a "victim" rather than a "customer" of WAREZ.
But the message is still the same:
1) Do NOT use WAREZ
2) If you do, do NOT come here for help because they screwed up your PC !
