I thought FBWF is included in Win7. But a search didn't bring up any files by that name.

fbwf.sys and fbwflib.dll located in the 'Windows 7 install DVD\sources\boot.wim'
or in the winpe.wim of the Windows AIK

in my experience the fbwf files from Windows 7 or from Vista SP1 works fine in XP based PE,
the files came from XPEFP2007 usually cause BSOD in XP based PE

7zip thanks.

Why do is suddenly feel reminded of Win95 times?
Ah yes, Microsoft including files in Windows that other programs can open, but not Windows natively.

what is your host OS?
on Windows 7 host dism.exe works without installed AIK
(wimgapi.dll wimmount.sys wimserv.exe dism.exe etc. out-of-the-box installed,
so on Windows7 host only GImageX v2.0.17 needed to get rid of the command-line usage if someone prefer the GUI)

Just remembered, didn't FBWF driver used to be accompanied by FBWFMgr?
Where can i find that in Win7? It's not in the boot.wim.

If i understand you right there is no FBWFMgr in Win7. Is there one in the WAIK?
Or can i still use the old XPe one, despite it being a very different version?
