When I check for updates through the Dowload Center there is project.ini in the list of updates.

But if I agree, all my settings will be overwritten.

Is it right to include file 'project.ini' in update list ?

It can be correct to include. There could be several serious changes of variables definitions etc.

WinBuilder's download center gives the user the choice to
  • suggest downloads by version changes (version number in [Main])
  • suggest downloads by physical changes (md5 value, stored on download server)
  • suggest downloads by logical changes (certification value, stored on download server).
Appearently the project authors decided not to use the certification alternity.

There are ICE-aged methods (from the time before LiveXP) to save and restore user settings around a download.

Also, any download is always "suggested", and can be "unselected"...One alternative is to amke a backup copy, and then use a tool like WinMerge (or other file comparison tool) to see if, as Peter pointed out, there are any serious updates to the other global variables needed. Since the bulk of the project.ini file has variables, and not logic, certification might not be a foolproof answer...But then again, many things we think are "fool"-proof aren't :-(
