Hi

I'm creating a custom DVD of Windows 8.1 Update 64 bit and I inserted 4 volume images in the install.wim file. These volume images containing 4 different custom editions of the operating system that they have 4 different serial numbers for their installation.

Now, since I would not insert these serial numbers during the installation, how should I do to save them in the DVD or in their respective volume images so that, during the installation phase, I only need to choose the edition to install?

Thanks

Bye

Hi Balubeto Balubeto,

if your media were a USB, or booting from RAM, there might be a  solution through Grub4dos

and cat -hex--replace.

You would be renaming unattend file with one of 4 names (though I'm not sure of Win 7/8 installs) (or replacing by same number of bits, different numbers,"inside" the file.

Check against recent Steve topic Grldr bootfix "press any key" here or a topic by me Unattend pe differences here.

From DVD, I wonder if there is a way of telling bootfiles (ntldrsetupldr/Btmgr) to access the unattend (or whichever) file on a (virtual) floppy.

Or patching in RAM.

@ the same time (as I probably mixed some terminology in prev. post), isn't there some equivalent of hex editing setupldr.bin in XP, but here for Windows 8, to load different sifs (or equivalent). Booting via Grldr.
