File Name: ScreenResolution.Script
File Submitter: pscEx
File Submitted: 22 Dec 2011
File Updated: 16 Aug 2012
File Category: App scripts

The script contains ScreenResEx.exe, which changes the screen resolution inside a running PE.

It is independent from the used video driver, and works also, when the right click into the desktop does not give you the possibility to change the display resolution.

Known (pseudo)issue: When used in a Virtual Machine, ScreenResEx does not change the resolution visibly, it only changes the size of the displayed VM window.

ScreenResEx.exe can be started in several ways.
Started w/o parameters it shows a help output screen telling the different command line syntax.

Remark: When you want to have always the latest ScreenResEx.exe, watch this URL: http://reboot.pro/17386/
You can download and attach it to your script.
This ScreenResolution.Script download is only updated, when due to a ScreenResEx.exe change something in the script code is changed.

Hi Peter,

Would your utility and script be a suitable replacement for "MaxResolution 5"..?
http://reboot.pro/fi...-maxresolution/

Some of have been having problem with MaxResolution on low quality LCD screens.
I have one such screen a Chimei CMV221D.

With MaxResolution I end up with a black screen and no way to get back to a workable resoultion of ANY size unless I reboot and watch the screen for a chance to cancel the MaxResolution function after the Desktop has been drawn up.

Regards,
BobxT

I just am fighting against the same issue.

The display driver of the multiPE PE3 offers two resolutions which are higher than the 1600 x 1200 the monitor allows.
So the trial of setting the higer resolution fails.

Peter
