As told, I'm in the middle of rebuilding the download.
Why do you not simply do what I suggested?

In the project of your posts 44 / 46 open the WinBuilder download center, use server multipe.winbuilder.net/Projects and download ONLY 04a.6-multiPe.script

A new project version can be downloaded. It realized a suggestion of TheHive, do switch the different tracks by the source CD.
Some bug fixes are also included. Maybe that ends the troubles of Klaus21 ...

Please test and post results.

Hi Peter,

I downloaded and tested the latest version of MultiPE. It works fine. rundll32 is processing the registry entries and the temp & tmp environment variables are pointing correctly the temp folder in the Default User profile. The RAM disk is created successfully.

Many thanks for your efforts and thanks for maintaining this nice project.

I let everything go through individually.
It occurred only at:
"APPS - Develop - Services in and PEFactory - PEFactory" error.

No, I see in your log a hint to "my personal" directory structure. There is still something wrong in the upload. Please do not try anything more (wasted time) and wait for a new "uploaded" message by me. Same error

Corrected version of multiPE is uploaded.

The changed files can be downloaded by WinBuilder Download Center from multipe.winbuilder.net/Projects:
  • script.project (still version 3)
  • 3-ManageWims.script (version 7)

Before we continue fishing in the dark, please do EXACTLY, whar is desribed here!

BTW: EXACTLY means: SKIP NONE OF THE STEPS! DO NOT ALTER ONE OF THE STEPS! NO MODIFICATION OF ANY FILE!

When you still have troubles, buy a package of dynamite, and think about how you can combine your PC with this package of dynamite ...

(Or I think about doing so with my system ...)

Hi Peter,
have all made so exact as described on your homepage.

"Create an empty directory where the multiPE project should reside." --> E:\multiPE
Requirements: The disk where you create it, must be formatted in NTFS. --> YES
Download the the multiPE project from the multiPE server and unzip the "Projects" directory into E:\multiPE. *
Look here for the latest WinBuilder version, download and unzip WinBuilder into V:\multiPE. ** --> WinBuilder82.0.1.0.exe
Start WinBuilder as Admin. --> YES

've Only done two things:
1st Source -> E: \ Win7U

Click the "Source" tab and define a valid XP, Vista or Win7 x86 source. E:\Win7U (windows 7 ultimate x86
2nd PEFactory noEmulator

Click the blue triange, and watch at the build. *** --> YES

But i,ve got still same error messages.
Here is the new log file:

PEFactory noEmulator

Is that EXACTLY ???

I think that the "Dynamite" solution is applicable now!

Maybe before that you download any fresh Win7 trial CD and try that.

Hi there. I'm completely new to winbuilder and multiPE.

I followed this EXACTLY: http://multipe.winbu...iPE/StartUp.htm
  • WinBuilder resides in C:\Projects
  • MultiPE resides in C:\Projects\Projects\MultiPE
  • My xp sp3 source resides in: C:\Projects\orig
  • None of the files in my source are read only.
  • I havn't changed any options in the build.
I hit play, it builds, boots up in Qemu, I see a blue background with a mouse cursor, then it reboots automatically after about 30 seconds.

My log is here: http://www.mediafire...j45y9h/log.html

Any idea what's going on here or how to fix it?
I noticed there is a "Handled Error" where it failed to copy SP3.cab, but it doesn't say "WHY" it failed. I checked for the file and it's not corrupt or anything so I have no clue.

P.S. I really wish I could have simply attached the log. :/

I rebuilt your configuration, and did a fresh download of multiPE.
I only defined the source C:Projectsorig and started the build.

qEmu came up with the PE, no reboot.

What is your host OS?

The "Handled error" is intended by the script author. Sometimes it is easier to give a command which might fail, than checking all conditions whether the command can be done or not.

Attach the log: IMO new members are not allowed to attach. You can attach after a certain amount of posts (I do not know how many).

Then I currently have no idea.

For this event class long time ago I asked for the voodoo smiley :wodoo:

Maybe you repeat the whole procedure in C:Test or similar. :showoff:

I will retry yet again with a different folder hierarchy. If that fails I suppose I'll try another source.
thanks for your time. :)

One other "hint"...While posting a log here is maybe ideal, using a site like MediaFire (which is free) can let you upload the file and give others easy access to it...

Hi Peter,
I've now tried the new version but unfortunately still the same old mistakes.
(multiPE Configuration) CopyOrExpand - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%WorkbenchmultiPE_Win7StoredWimsUlR2I5de0617601WindowsSystem32de-DEshell32.dll.mu_] to: [%BaseDir%WorkbenchmultiPE_Win7UserDatashell32.dll.mui]: Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden.

You do not have any idea what else can I do?
Can I create the PE in a virtual environment?

regards Klaus
